89% of New Mexico’s cases are in just seven of New Mexico’s 30 counties, and the deaths are in just five counties at the most.

The interactive map at the link shows the idiocy of locking down the entire state, when the viral experience between counties and locations is so vastly different.

Every governor that insisted on the lock down scenario should have taken a county by county approach from day one. Some counties should have had no lock downs under any scenario.

89% of New Mexico’s cases are in just seven of New Mexico’s 30 counties, and the deaths are in just five counties at the most.

The 2 NW counties that both have about a 1/3 carveout of Navajo reservation land is the bulk of the percentages along with nursing homes having around 50% of deaths statewide. Just like the governor punishing the entire state for the infection rate of a few counties, she is also punishing 66% of the 2 counties because the native infection rate in their state is so high.

The 33% reservation land inside those counties are governed separately as sovereign nation land. It is self governed, does not answer to state or county governing and with the infection rate doesn't seem to follow federal covid guidelines either. The navajo government has placed them under crippling curfews, but with only 100 police officers and 27,000 square miles to police you could say the curfew fails miserably, proven by the daily increases in cases with the strictest lockdown in the country.

Meanwhile the 'Me Too' governor proving to her other female governor cohorts on who can rule with the heaviest fist like it's a competition between them.
