(Admin Mod, I know this isn't a proper article - these are my words, not from a source article, but Allen West is beloved around these parts and the only updates on his status after his motorcycle crash are kind-of unstructured posts on his Facebook page.)
Allen West left the hospital today, got home, and posted a video thanking everyone for their prayers and well wishes.

I hate to say it, but he looks and sounds pained. Mega-prayers for his recovery.

When I ride they’re all out to kill me. Every car/truck don’t see me, to them, I’m invisible...I’m on my own, it’s up to me to survive all the dumb azzes driving cars/trucks. After decades of riding every motorcycle imaginable, I’m still here only because I fully understand how unskilled, inexperienced and flat out stupid people on the road can be. Green lights and stop signs mean nothing. Ya have to be vigilant...And even then, the best rider in the world can go under the wheels of some dumb azzz.
List of crap that made go down.
Hit a dog.
Hit a flattened out beer can.
The rain.
Guy cut a corner too tight.
Dropped bike off back of a truck.
Flat tire.
High speed wobbles.
Pigeon hit me while I was going 70 and rang my bell.
Dam Allen! Hope you had a helmet! Next invest in a face shield.
Not to diss too hard on a fellow rider, and I’m glad he’s going to recover, but he was probably wearing one of those Harley “skullcap” helmets. They are practically useless, and he’s lucky the concussion didn’t punch his ticket.
I had a nasty accident in 1990, where I broadsided a Blazer. The full-face helmet saved my good looks and life. I still had a concussion, but I hobbled out of the hospital the next morning under my own power.
I still ride, and use a quality full-face helmet all the way.
I’m old and too cautious now maybe, but what scares me most. Kids on scooters, crotch rockets, or whatever riding in shorts, tee shirts, tank tops, and flip flops/Sandles etc. all is see is riding road rash. I’m glad West made it but the summer just got started. It’s hard to heal the burn.
Helmets and heavy leather jackets are the only way to go if you ride a motorcycle.
Indeed. I am amazed. He may not feel like it today, but he had serious guardian angels looking out after him.

I always rode with a full face helmet.
Balm of Gilead prevents and gets rid of scars.
Allen West didn’t try to kill himself
Car ran a light and because of left-lane traffic stopped he couldn't see it coming (he approached intersection so the car and blocking cars were on his right) and he broadsided it and his head hit the edge of the roof/window junction so hard the helmet split...could've been his skull that split.

No I’m sure he didn’t. He’s lucky to be alive. I hope he takes the win and stops riding. He’s too valuable to lose. Imagine if Trump made him the head of the FBI instead of that little rat Wray.

I realize this is from a week ago, but thanks for posting.
