Allen West, the former Florida congressman and recent candidate to chair the Texas Republican Party, was injured in a motorcycle accident just outside Waco on Saturday, according to numerous posts on social media. “Please pray for Allen West," Dr. Angela Graham-West, his wife, posted on Facebook early Saturday evening. She wrote that he was in the emergency room after his motorcycle was hit outside Waco. “On my way to hospital now.”

An update on West’s Facebook page Sunday morning said he was recovering and in stable condition. The crash left him with a concussion, several fractured bones and multiple lacerations.

“I am alive by the grace of God,” West said in a statement Sunday morning.

“I wonder if the cager was staring at their stupid phone.”

I’m sixty five and have well over a third of a million miles on two wheels. I remember when we were afraid of rednecks with shotguns in pickup trucks. Now it’s teenage girls with cell phones in Toyotas.

Its a lot more dangerous these days, and its not just teenage girls. We were hit by a blind old lady after her third surgery for macular degeneration. This is probably even a worse risk in Florida.

Know what we ER nurses call motorcycles?

Donor-cycles.

Stay off of motorcycles — 100% injury rate.

Sounds like Dr Faux-chi “science”.

My grandfather said that the desire to ride a motorcycle was the first sign of insanity. Not doing it, but just the desire. Motorcycle fatalities are a big source of donor organs.

I am grateful that he is alive but it makes me question his better judgment.

I’m glad he’s alive. Allen is a very smart guy, BUT for goodness sakes he was riding in I-35, near Buckies. UGH. I try to avoid 35 in a car. Especially around cities like Waco. I hope he recovers fully and soon.

Insurance Information Institute and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Ride a motorcycle long enough, and you’ll be injured.

I know several people who own and drive motorcycles, drive them to work daily and take long trips cross-country, and not a one has been in an accident.

They’re hyper-alert and drive well within their capacity.

So, you’re mistaken about motorcycle riding being a guaranteed, 100% chance of getting in an accident.

I saw a biker breath his last. I will never forget it. It was a bloody bubble that went pop.

Florida at one time had the highest per capita two wheel (motor and none) fatality rate in the country.

“Life - 100% death rate.
I’ll take my chances and enjoy my freedom!
The Road King awaits!”

Same philosophy. I stack the deck in my favor as much as possible with good training and gear and well maintained bikes. Beemer and a Ducati here.

"Its all old people. Millennials don't ride."

Yep! Since riding a motorcycle can denote a person's sense of "independence", the wokettes, who represent about 80% of today's under 40 population, would natural be repulsed by anything that doesn't require and submit to a hive mentality...

It is this evil personality trait, "independence", along with others like honesty & patriotism, that was the reason that the chicom virus attack was used by the communists who rule much of the Nation to convert the Nation's senior-living facilities into extermination camps...
Everyone over the age of 60 is seen as an imminent threat to the peace and stability of the communist regime that now controls 22 states and the House of Representatives...

Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot would be proud...
