Jeff Sessions Confronts Trump on Twitter Over His ‘Anger’
Daily Beast ^ | May 22, 2020 | Allison Quinn

Former Attorney General Jeff Sessions publicly called out President Trump on Twitter late Friday for continuing to whine about his decision to recuse himself from the Russia investigation.

...

“Look, I know your anger, but recusal was required by law,” Sessions wrote. “I did my duty & you're damn fortunate I did. It protected the rule of law & resulted in your exoneration. Your personal feelings don't dictate who Alabama picks as their senator, the people of Alabama do.”

Hell with Sessions. After what he done to President Trump. To me . he is in the same class as obama. Leave President Trump alone. You have done enough to him.

I feel bad for Jeff. He was a loyal Republican and early supporter of Trump. He was reworded with a plumb post, in which he should have served well.

But, he was a naif from the Senate club from which he was totally unprepared to handle the viper nest into which he was dropped, complete with a an already underway plan to criminally investigate Trump and Flynn, among others..

Totally out of his depth, he recused, without seeking advice from outside DOJ which he badly needed. There was no legal requirement for him to recuse. He allowed himself to be rolled.

So, he'd probably be OK as rejoining the Senate club assuming he'd be a loyal vote. But I get why Trump would prefer another loyal vote after Sleepy Jeff's gross incompetence

Bullshit! He is more than willing to stab President Trump in the back again. But that is far is it goes. The entire Democrat House of Representative enemies could mot cause President as much grief than one “friend such as jeff sessions could and did.

Sessions reminds me of the Bush family: never had a bad word for Democrats but Orange Man Bad.

Hardly. He didn't say anything against Trump until Trump had attacked him several times. I also don't see where he's been friendly with Democrats.

he never had to recuse himself...it was an intelligence investigation, not criminal. Kamala Harris had Sessions shaking like a leaf at one hearing....terrible pick for A.G.

I don’t agree that he was a supporter of President Trump. He pretended to be in order to get close to him and stab him in the back.

Deep state had 2 people to eliminate to go after the President...Flynn..and then Sessions, which they easily accomplished. Especially Sessions, once he was out of the way, they could do what they wanted...thankfully, Trump didnt fall in their perjury trap. Sessions was the weak link, sorry Jeff.

Chuck Grassley said in 2017 he did not have time for hearings to replace Sessions if Sessions was gone... I do not think it mattered who was attorney general.. Obama’s crew already had in motion means and methods to oust Trump, come .ell or high water. The claim was investigation of the Trump campaign. Sessions was part of the campaign..

Sessions job or any person sitting attorney general works for US, and is not the personal attorney for the president. The law is the law and there is none on this board who would sanction the attorney general heading an investigation of a campaign they were so visibly involved. Red diaper al Frankenstein, actually let the cat out of the bag, of what was about to be unleashed, when he questioned sessions in the confirmation hearings..

Muller and his crew already knew before they ever collected one paycheck, there was NO Russian collusion. What they tried to force was ‘obstruction of their justice’ out of Sessions and/or Trump.

as A.G. ..he could have called Comey in on Jan 21 and demanded to see everything about this fake investigation...and now we see how the FBI acted so corruptly....all this could have been stopped in its tracks. He was way too weak...

I can't imagine anything friendlier than standing idly by while your President is being railroaded. He had several choices and all of them turned out to be very bad for Trump. But now that he wants his old job back the big orange meanie is picking on him and he's only trying to defend himself?

With enough people thinking like that he'll probably get elected again. All we can do is hope that he doesn't end up as the next McCain or Romney.

Sessions was not confirmed until February 8th. Comey was fired in May.. Rosey Rod was busy setting up the muller inquisitors while Comey was distracting.

Here is background. If sessions was out to get President Trump, sessions had ample opportunity under interrogation by the muller inquisitors. If Muller’s inquisitors could have nailed sessions instead they would have.. muller’s inquisitors were after a blood letting whatever it took.

So Sessions stabbed President Trump in the back and expects him to be thankful for it? What a putz.

Stopped what? The claim was to investigate the Trump campaign.. if this were Eric the Red Holder, would you accept him leading an investigation And or shutting down an investigation into the Obama campaign? It was Rosey Rod that set up the Muller ‘special Counsel...

Let's say the recusal was required by law. Recusing without making sure it was necessary was not. It is now obvious that people who answered to Sessions were lying to him and falsified criminal charges while he was attorney general. A competent attorney general would have made absolutely sure his recusal was necessary first and never allowed this to have happened.

That is patently obvious... I am not a dude.. but I did pay attention. Trump is venting on the wrong person. Muller’s crew was about forcing a crime, when they knew before they ever started there was no crime... sessions did not fall for their attempts.
