Former Attorney General Jeff Sessions publicly called out President Trump on Twitter late Friday for continuing to whine about his decision to recuse himself from the Russia investigation.
...
Look, I know your anger, but recusal was required by law, Sessions wrote. I did my duty & you're damn fortunate I did. It protected the rule of law & resulted in your exoneration. Your personal feelings don't dictate who Alabama picks as their senator, the people of Alabama do.

I will always believe Jeffy was blackmailed to recuse and be a do-nothing AG, then told he could not resign this giving the DS full reign over the office.
IDK what they used on him but he sure turned into an obedient little puppy.
Evidently enough to let the world’s most powerful, elected official hang in the unbalance. And of course, he chose not to resign.
I defended Sessions because he is an immigration patriot. But he should know well enough to keep his trap shut. I hope he gets a single digit % of the primary vote.
So NOW he grows a spine. What a putz.
Jeff, Jeff, Jeff. You contributed NOTHING to the rule of law, or Trumps exoneration. You allowed your subordinates to undermine, intimidate and overrule you. You sat back and allowed your subordinates to attack your President and focus a weaponized Special Council against him and his administration. You failed to lead. You are a failure. The one honorable thing you could do is end your campaign and endorse your Republican rival. Salvage whatever dignity you can before the last crumbs are gone.
Why is it none of these people have a backbone, until it
comes time to trash Trump? Then all of a sudden they’ve
got oodles of courage.
Say one rotten thing about Mrs. Clinton’s antics? Why heck
no. You have to be respectful.
Sessions has gone way way down on my list of people who are
part of the Conservative team.
Jeff Sessions would make a better senator for Alabama than either Doug Jones or that football coach from Florida.
He’s going to get absolutely creamed.
There was no basis for any investigation by Comey or by Mueller. There should have been no recusal. Sessions recused himself because he is a coward who was afraid that the Deep State would start making stuff up about him. So he went along with the bogus investigation.
The magoo elf ain't right.
Time to call it quits, your time has passed, game over.
He’s running to pull a Romney. Get elected and oppose Trump. Sessions would be another vote for impeachment, etc.
Yup.
Antagonize him enough and he just might.
Sessions would be another vote for impeachment, etc.
Nonsense. Alabama isn't Utah. Sessions knows that if he voted for impeachment he wouldn't be reelected.
Sessions reminds me of the Bush family: never had a bad word for Democrats but Orange Man Bad.
Getter days...

He’s obviously willing to lock horns with Trump these days, no? I expect it would be a whole lot worse if Sessions got elected.
Recusal means getting out of the way. It means not leading. After someone recuses themself they are out of the loop.
It doesn't matter that there was no evidence and it doesn't matter that Sessions recused himself. The Democrats and the media were going to get their special prosecutor. If Trump could have stopped it, he would have, but he didn't because he couldn't.
Take another nap, Sleepy.
His balls spent two years in hiding while his DOJ mounted an insurrection against his boss, but the President speaks up about his performance and suddenly they spring to life.
As for taking credit for the President’s exoneration, if Sessions hadn’t been fired the Mueller sham would still be running. Every single day there would be new leaks about new and old smears and innuendo, and new raids and prosecutions of anyone who could be tied to President Trump. Assuming, of course, that by now it wouldn’t have succeeded in its purpose of giving the RINOs cover to vote to remove. All of that stopped only because Sessions’ replacements reined in the sham and brought it to a conclusion.
