Former Attorney General Jeff Sessions publicly called out President Trump on Twitter late Friday for continuing to whine about his decision to recuse himself from the Russia investigation.
...
Look, I know your anger, but recusal was required by law, Sessions wrote. I did my duty & you're damn fortunate I did. It protected the rule of law & resulted in your exoneration. Your personal feelings don't dictate who Alabama picks as their senator, the people of Alabama do.

That was actually the most ballsy thing sessions has done in 4 years.
And it was a decent comeback.
But he’s gotta know not to publicly go after Trump.
Especially since he’s the one who left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth.
And what law is he referring to? Because truth be told, CONSTITUTIONALLY the AG shouldn’t be investigating or appointing anyone to investigate the president. Thatà Congress job.
Recusal was not required by law. He did nothing to determine if he actually had a conflict of interest. He just turned the reigns of power over to Trumps enemies. Putz. I hope he loses by triple digits.
This is not a winning argument on Sessions part.
I can’t find the article anymore, but Gregg Jarrett and others stated Sessions applied the law incorrectly in requiring himself to be recused.
Rod Rosenstein, Sally Yates and the DoJ “ethics” division are not the law, Mr. Trust Sessions.
He recused himself without even telling his boss that he was going to do so, backed Rosenweasel, and now wants to take the credit for President Trump’s exoneration? I’d say the man’s a bit delusional. You’re no hero Jeff. No where near.
Instead of taking credit for the President's exoneration from a charge that never should have seen the light of day ..... you should have resigned and allowed the President to have a fully functioning Attorney General.
Had you done this one honorable thing the President and the country could have been spared the circus that engulfed both the man and his supporters and almost ended this administration and rendered our votes moot.
I hope the voters in Alabama remember *this* when making their decision.
Jeff Sessions, you are a disgrace.
Jeff Sessions Cited the WRONG LAW when He Recused Himself .. Took Advice From Obama Lawyers
Well, good for Jeff- but he’s bound to lose this.
“It protected the rule of law”
It did no such thing! In fact, his excuse for recusal has been blown to smithereens by more lawyers than one can count. It has been widely noted that he Cited the Wrong Law in his excuse for recusal.
This has been noted by many dozens of lawyers among them Mark Levin, Joe DiGenova, Victoria Tuensing, Greg Jarett, David Limbaugh, etc...
The loser is lashing out because all the polls show him getting his ass kicked in this election and he knows President Trump’s comments reminding the people of his state of Session’s lame cowardess is going to sink him.
President Trump should simply ignore the meek, cowardly, excuse-making Sessions.
This slimey little worm is just playing politics. Obviously for Trump’s enemies...he left Trump high and dry when he saw there was a fight ahead. Little establishment coward.
Horse$hit. What dirt did they have on you, Jeffy ? Was it bad ?
When is the vote?
Tough guy chiming in — surprised he was heard.
Sessions is a fraud that once playacted the role of a conservative.
I think I resent most of all that not only did Sessions not resign, he hid behind his friends in the Senate who came out and said the President couldn’t remove him.
Sessions is a man without honor.
Sessions is an Obama puppet.
It's the only ballsy thing he's done in 4 years. Meek to the Dems who railroaded, ballsy to Trump who he screwed.
