We need to proactively reach out to these companies that are allowing this behavior and tell them it is NOT acceptable. I just left a message for the CFO of Costco and I highly recommend you all do the same.
The forcing of masks on us like we're sheep is completely unacceptable and if we don't step to the plate and push back on this they won't stop.
Neither do pants, really, but I wear them anyway every day. I find it makes other people feel more comfortable
That’s the stores policy right now. Actually I think Costco has been terrific in that there’s hardly anyone inside nowadays so I don’t get all the usual rude crowd behaviors that I hated.
wow, you truly dont know anything.
LOL! I do know that masks work, so there’s that.
Why not just boycott businesses that infringe on your rights? I don’t use establishments that say I can’t be armed because there are others that have no such restrictions.
Costco is no more forcing you to wear a mask than they are forcing you to shop at their stores and forcing you to buy their products. If you do not want to abide by their rules as a private business... then don't shop there.
However, before you make that decision, be aware that many of these locations are governed by local or state level health boards that REQUIRE masks be worn. So before you lay the blame at Costco's feet, make sure that you know where the requirement is coming from.
Naw, just do what my wife and I are doing.
Wear gas masks while there. Its pretty cool.
Weve got no other masks and we have only used these since Costco started requiring them two-three weeks ago.
We are the only ones with gas masks, there.
“Dont like it? Shop elsewhere.”
That is the best advise, it is a free market. Companies follow the money and will change their policies to get customers back.
Costco is a private business and is pretty much free to do as they please inside their own stores. If you don't like it, then do your retail shopping somewhere else.
Personally, I've never once been inside a Costco store -- and it has nothing to do with a stupid mask requirement or anything of that sort.
I don't know about you, but as for me -- I don't want to see the typical Costco shopper in a bikini. FFS some of the biggest, widest most ignorant of others people I've ever seen are in Costco! NFW I want to see them in bikini's!
NY + NJ are about 42% of US deaths, so well under half. But yes, good place to stay away from, and a fact vastly under-reported in the media.
Ill put in a plug for DoughtyOnes daily COVID update threads, numbers are readily available there. Section 8, in this case.

I have not been to Costco in about 2 months. I used to go every week. It is in the mid-90’s in Texas now, and I am not going to stand in a line around the building waiting to get in. The lines outside bother me more than masks.
Inflated numbers, even Dr Brix said those number were inflated.
Just my 2 cents. Here the county health lady mandated wearing masks indoors. I fully understand your sentiment of wanting to flip the county health Lady off but I don’t understand your demands that businesses stand beside you and flip the county off.
More like 30,000 dead from the Communist Chinese Virus. And the bulk of those who died were in Democrat-State nursing homes where the people were immunocompromised anyway. If you want to live your life in fear, be my guest. The whole purpose of quarantining us normal people from the Wuhan-Pelosi-Schumer Virus was to keep the hospitals from being overrun like they were in New York City. Turns out, they weren't overrun. Turns out, hundreds of thousands have died from suicide, untreated illnesses, cancer not diagnosed quickly enough, and millions more suffering the emotional scars of losing their livelihood because of this so-called "pandemic".
Emphasis on the wrong syllAble.
Costco as a private enterprise is free to do whatever they want. They are part of the voluntary cooperation between buyers and sellers (that SHOULD be) free from government interference - the wonderful wealth creating Free Market Economy - freedom at work.
Companies and businesses may do things you don’t like but you’re free to go buy things elsewhere - it’s a voluntary exchange. Costco does not force you to buy at their store. You have plenty of other options
The really bad guys are the government who FORCE you to wear masks stay at home, and do all kinds of things you do ‘t want to do. It is government, not Costco, that makes unjust laws and decrees that violate your freedoms.
The focus should be on fixing government. The voluntary exchange between buyers and sellers in the marketplace will take care of Costco and other companies as long as government doesn’t interfere. If enough pole choose to go elsewhere, Costco may be forced to change it’s ways or accept lost income.
But government doesn’t care what you do because the essence of government is FORCE, not free choice, and they, not Costco, can TAKE your money and do things like throw you into prison regardless of how stupid or unjust the reason.
It’s a private business.
Like Facebook is, and all these other social media platforms that censor what you can see, say, and read.
So I don’t go there.
Oh my God. Just put on the friggin mask or dont go to the store.
They are not a government owned business. They can do what they want.
If you dont like it, Tough Sh!t.
"This requirement does not apply to children under the age of 2 or to individuals who are unable to wear a face covering due to a medical condition."
So, print this (got it from a Facebook friend) and it might be your get-in-free card.
Personally, I'm not shopping there as long as they have this policy ... Costco makes its decision, and I make mine not to spend my $$ there for the duration. Not a problem for me, as Sam's is right across the street and is much more user friendly.
At Sam's, I can scan and pay for my purchases on my phone and completely bypass the long cashier lines. That's a big bonus for me, anyway.
They wear them to prevent bacterial infections in the patients they operate on. Big difference....
