Rep. Pete King (R-N.Y.) said he plans to buck party lines and vote in favor of the $3 trillion coronavirus relief package proposed by House Democrats and slated to come to the floor on Friday, the New York Times first reported Wednesday.
King who represents one of the hardest-hit districts in the state and is set to retire at the end of this term said while there are provisions that give him pause, he feels its critical that Congress provide funding for state and local governments that have been disproportionately affected by the deadly virus. The New York Republican also said the language to eliminate the $10,000 cap on the state and local tax (SALT) deduction for 2020 and 2021 factored into his decision to back the measure.
"In some ways it's a tough decision and in some ways it's an easy decision," King told The Hill.

Pete should expect a phone call from MITT.
“Hello Peter, how’s the wife and grandkids? I think it’s time we had a cup of coffee and a chat! The well being of the country may depend on it. Who’s office, mine or yours?”
“In some ways it’s a tough decision and in some ways it’s an easy decision,” King told The Hill.
Sitting right on the fence, with an 8” locust post up his treasonous ass. They can sure spend OUR money.
..... Republicans will scream about how bad the Spending Bill is to please their base .... Then with all of their might and mental fortitude ....... Pass it under protest ......
Worse than a Democrat...well, just as bad at least.
One thing the dems have that the GOPers dont is party discipline. Wayward GOPers, in pathetic attempts to be open minded, fancy themselves as free thinkers in bolting from the party on certain issues. The dems, on the other hand, keep a tight leash on their members, and dont tolerate strays.
The bailout King?
GFY Pete.
King has been useless for decades
Most of the thee trillion dollars will go into the pockets of leftists.

All politics is local.

Isn’t he leaving anyway? The Quisling never gave a sh*t anyway!
With friends like King, who needs enemies?
*******
With members like King, the GOP needs enemas.
Bye, Pete.
Taxpayers in solvent States and localities should not bail out those areas controlled by Dems that are deep in red ink due to poor management of finances. They didn’t get in such trouble because of COVID-19.
Pete King represents blue collar firefighters, cops, military veterans. Essentially the 1968 Nixon-1984 Reagan coalition.
Long Island’s politics mirror the 1960s-1980s blue collar Northern conservatism, and King is a representative of that.
King comes from the Nassau County GOP-—the most pro-union county GOP in the country.
He’s retiring, not running for reelection this year.
Well, he is from New York. Not that it makes his choice correct, just explains his shortsightednes.
There’s never been anything conservative about Northeast Republicans.
They’re moderates at best.
Since he’s retiring, he doesn’t give a F*ck...not that he ever really did anyway.
NY Republicans are a mix of blue collar and upper elite.
Unbelievable. Has idiot King READ what is actually in this democRAT Wish List bill???
