Voters Sour on Joe Biden as Tara Reade Allegations Find Higher Platform
Morning Consult ^ | 05/12/2020 | Eli Yokley

Posted on 05/12/2020 9:15:51 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

* 48% of voters view Biden unfavorably, up 3 points since the surge of Tara Reade coverage, while 43% view him favorably, down 2 points since then.

* Voters who dislike both Trump and Biden overwhelmingly back Biden, 46% to 14%, in a head-to-head matchup.

Tara Reade’s allegation that Joe Biden sexually assaulted her when he was a senator in 1993 is one of the few non-coronavirus stories to have broken through to voters amid the pandemic, and it appears to be taking a toll on the former vice president’s popularity.

A new Morning Consult poll found the former vice president’s net favorability — the share who view him favorably minus the share who view him unfavorably — has dropped 5 percentage points among registered voters since an April 20-26 poll conducted in the week before Biden forcefully denied Reade’s accusation on television amid heightened media coverage of the story. According to the new polling, conducted May 4-10 among 27,754 registered voters, 48 percent of voters view Biden unfavorably, compared with 43 percent who have positive views of the former vice president. Both polls had a 1-point margin of error.

The slide resulted in Biden’s net favorability among women falling underwater for the first time since the nadir of his primary campaign in February, with 46 percent viewing him unfavorably and 44 viewing him favorably. Taken together, it marks a 6-point drop in net favorability among women since the April 20-26 poll, driven by women ages 30 to 65 — the voting bloc that strategists on either side of the aisle credit with fueling Democratic victories in 2018 House races.

Morning Consult measured similar dips in popularity among men, voters on either side of age 45, suburban whites and black voters.

Perv can’t keep it in his pants 5 minutes, can’t speak in whole sentences and still gets 48%?!

Biden’s (presumably) Reade-related slide is also showing up in the head-to-head polling with Trump. RCP:

His lead over Trump has been in the six-point range since the start of this year, with a brief exception in late February after he’d lost the primaries Iowa, New Hampshire, and Nevada. But lately that’s changed. Around two weeks ago, when the Reade story finally broke through, he slipped a point. Then, after holding a lead in the five-point range, he slipped another. His lead today is 4.4 points, the lowest since February 26.

riven by women ages 30 to 65 — the voting bloc that strategists on either side of the aisle credit with fueling Democratic victories in 2018 House races.

Moronic white women (D voters) who for some reason must hate the men in their lives...and their kids because they are destroying the country voting D.

I hope they come through in 2020

The Ministry of Propaganda tried mightily to keep this under wraps, but failed.

I actually believe voters weren’t interested in Biden from the start. They didn’t show up at his speeches - empty halls, a few people drifting around, looking bored. It’s why there were jokes that coronavirus benefited Biden - his rallys were less than 50 people and were within social distancing guidelines....

SO the media propped Biden up so they could try to keep the Ukraine questions from coming up - raising questions about his and his son’s corruption re Ukraine would be cast as 2020 political competition.

Mostly, I believe Biden was never a hair sniffing contender as he was just a place holder for people they “really” want in office. Hillary begins to hint, Kamala Harris begins to be receptive to being VP. Probably a half-dead Hillary and lyin’ Harris ticket. Two women, see, for those who only vote on litmus test candidates.

Note the sharper decline with men in contrast with women. For all the #metoo and the toxicity of men, it seems that men are more principled in these matters. Or, it could be reflexive virtue signaling, as the pajama boys have succumbed to the #metoo training.

I can’t figure out what the dems have up their sleeve. They know the score with biden.

Are they going to dump gropey joe and substitute Her Royal Hipness? Will he choose kamala to get votes from the women who would normally not vote for him because he’s a groper? Just think of the cognitive dissonance! (groper/lecher teamed with woman’s rights champion).

Do they plan to ramp up the Blame Trump for CV19 shouting so much that Trump cannot possibly be reelected and even a washed up bumbling old fart like biden will be easily elected?

I don’t know what they are cooking up, but it isn’t good whatever it is.

Will Dr. Jill Biden (not a physician) or Barack Hussein Obama be on the debate stage with Joe?

There is a typo in your write-up. It should be 46 to 41, not 46 to 14.
