More than 200 celebrities, scientists and Nobel Prize winners have signed an open letter rejecting the idea that things should go back to normal after the coronavirus pandemic ends arguing that we must, instead, stop the pursuit of consumerism.
Now, to be clear, Im not attacking them for their success or even for them enjoying it with lavish lifestyles. What I am saying, however, is that I cant help but be irked by the unconscionable lack of awareness youd have to have in order to sign something like this while youre sitting in an extravagant home surrounded by servants.
After all, if any of the super-wealthy people who signed this letter had any real interest in stopping the pursuit of consumerism, they would certainly have started with taking a look at their own habits in that area.

All the morons got rich because of consumerism.....Go ahead..Give 90% of your wealth away, then come back and talk to us
I know people who are convinced that things will never be normal again. No one will ever go to public entertainment. No one will ever go to a restaurant. No one will ever go to the mall.
This was a bad flu season. Worst one in about 50 years. OK. I get it. But we can be normal again. Sheesh.
This is “selfishness” something that should be throw in the that obama appointed texas judges face who harassed that salon owner for opening.

Just more Hollywierdos, legends in their own minds, who take themselves seriously. No one else does, except for the people who are celebrity worshippers.
Yeah I doubt any of the signatories are leading an ascetic life.

I heard Kat say most of this in a more condensed manner on the Greg Gutfeld show Saturday, and she did a VERY good job of it.

Our pastor's sermon yesterday talked about how the TV commercials talk about everybody being in the same boat.

You know the Bee is over target when you almost can't tell if it is satire. What is stunning is that after the whole Imagine idiocy and follow up episodes of tone-deaf stars getting raked over the coals, you'd think they'd wise up and go into a hole. But I keep reading about them stepping in it.
I truly hope when we come out of our homes that our memories of who rose above and who didn't remains fresh.
The Material Girl signs a letter against materialism.
Sure, 200 “celebrities” telling 200 million non-celebs how to live their lives.
These self-important pricks fancy themselves as great artists and innovative geniuses. I suspect that in 500 years not a one of them will be written about or remembered the way DaVinci or Michelangelo are today, as people who moved civilization forward. They may be expounded upon in specialized texts that focus on pop culture of the 20th century, but outside of that, will rate little more than a footnote or small paragraph at best.
Madonna don’t preach you’re in money deep
Madonna don’t preach, you’re not losing sleep
But you made up your mind, you’re keeping your mansion, hm
You’re gonna keep your mansion, hm

Saying you’re hurting the Erf, you peons ought to give it up
What you need right now is to shut your pie hole, please
You can call them elites but they aren’t. More like slobs and sluts.
