As the coronavirus pandemic rips through meat-processing plants, forcing several to temporarily close, there have been reports of a looming meat shortage for United States consumers. The lack of beefy inventory is also being felt by fast-food chains throughout North America.

Among those affected is Wendy’s, the home of the square burgers, as they have reportedly removed hamburgers as an option at 18 percent of store locations across the nation, according to a restaurant anaylst.

Wendy’s, McDonald’s and other fast food chains should be able to acquire beef without government intervention.

How much is really “supply chain”, and how much is it that fast food joints like Wendy’s are one of the easier lazy options for people who don’t want to cook, with all of the lock-down BS and closures at other restaurants?

My brother and I do the shopping right now, and we haven’t had any problem getting beef at either Kroger’s or Costco so far. And plenty of chicken, fish, etc. You DO have to know how to cook, but we’re not hurting out here.

I take the meat out of the bun and put it on gluten-free bread. I can’t eat their bacon. Only uncured bacon. Fun getting old.

If a burger chain is incapable of procuring beef, then they are doing something very wrong.

Ever since Dave Thomas died Wendy's corporate management has been a rollicking system of fusterclucks.

I did my groceries at Food 4 Less today and last week. I dont KNOW where this “missing meat” threads come from because they are stocked FULL.

Plus I went to IN N OUT yesterday and there’s beef. I’m confused..

Aldi had almost no fresh meat, yesterday; just a few packages of vacuum packed beef. Big sign up, stated supply chain problems. Plenty of frozen meat, though.

I genuinely feel for you. I’m 57 and wondering what else my doctor(s) are going to make me give up. They already made me quit smoking, drinking hard liquor, my wife made me stop chasing other women.........

Me, too. This REALLY shows compassionate leadership and is hard for people to argue against.

To the problem, tho, isn’t this just limited to three states? Cuz I’ve got a sneaking suspicion the problem is certain dem red-tape that’s behind the shortage. No proof, mind you, just a feeling based on what else is going on.
