How much is really “supply chain”, and how much is it that fast food joints like Wendy’s are one of the easier lazy options for people who don’t want to cook, with all of the lock-down BS and closures at other restaurants?
My brother and I do the shopping right now, and we haven’t had any problem getting beef at either Kroger’s or Costco so far. And plenty of chicken, fish, etc. You DO have to know how to cook, but we’re not hurting out here.
If a burger chain is incapable of procuring beef, then they are doing something very wrong.
Aldi had almost no fresh meat, yesterday; just a few packages of vacuum packed beef. Big sign up, stated supply chain problems. Plenty of frozen meat, though.
Nothing wrong with supporting drive through restaurants and delivery options in this time. Laziness has nothing to do with it.
If people in cities are eating enough fast food all of a sudden to run out the supply, then it sounds like a lot of them are making excuses not to shop for healthy food and cook-I’m too stressed, working at home, homeschooling, etc makes me too busy to cook, blah, blah, blah-so they are stuffing themselves with the fast food carbs for comfort-sounds like an episode of that 600 Pound Life show. I wonder how much the obesity rate is going to increase before people get back to work...
