Seriously? We are supposed to bring our jobs back to US companies, and the idiots in the Navy award major shipbuilding to an ITALIAN SHIPBUILDING company???

Put a stop to this immediately, Mr. President.

If you want to see Italian ship craftsmanship you need only look at the bottom of the Adriatic.

Probably cheaper than we could get them built in the US, which means more bang for the buck.

And the Italians design and build good ships.

And we are helping out an ally who needs it right now (and whose government is pretty much anti the EU...)

Agree!!!

Thought we learned a lesson...having meds made in China!Good grief.....amazing that highly educated people can be so ignorant!

This needs to be done by a U.S. Company and built IN the U.S.!

You’ll find plenty of Austrian warships there as well.

Considering what I heard about all the expatriate workers from China in Italy, guess who will be all over trying to get the tech secrets for these warships.

Italian warships of the 20th century were beautiful craft.

Why in the hell are we sending this business overseas? This work could and should be done here. Wonder if Trump was aware of this plan before the Navy announced it?

Yeah, this seems wrong headed to me. Of all the things which you might think need to be built by a country, the things it's military forces use would seemingly be at the top of the list.

I can only surmise they are pissed at some of the domestic producers because of the Navy's unhappiness with their products. Perhaps this is intended to send a message to domestic producers to fix whatever has been wrong with them.

I believe this Italian company builds a lot cruise ships. They are going to have a lot extra capacity with that industry tanking.

Fellini would have made at least one movie about these Italian Shipbuilders. Just imagine the arguments, the embellishments and the boasting that would occur.
