..."My son died from the coronavirus as I mentioned," Hunstable says in his online video. "But not in the way you think."...Hunstable's 12-year-old son, Hayden, died by suicide on April 17, just four days before his 13th birthday. Photos show a crowd of family and friends joining to celebrate and remember Hayden. His dad believes the why is a "perfect storm" of reasons..."I think the scary thing about COVID for me and the isolation is that it amplifies what is ever there and makes it even bigger, in my opinion," he said.

We cannot know the true home life of this particular child, but his father seems, from this video, like a perfectly normal and good father who just didn't see this coming, possibly because the son truly did seem to be doing as fine as could be expected under the circumstances.
“As Fine as could be expected under the circumstances” can be pretty awful at times if the circumstances are awful.
If one is placed in circumstances that are abnormal, then it is normal to be struggling with mental turmoil. The unintended consequences of this lockdown are and will be legion.
All so the Democrats could get rid of Donald Trump.
Could be foul play. A boyfriend of the mother is usually the culprit in such crimes.
So they didn’t care about social distancing for a memorial, but strictly enforced it for the troubled near-teen?
Democrat mass murder is underway.
I don’t think so at all. First of all, I don’t think there was a boyfriend. Dad and mom, parents of the boy and his sister, were married. Second of all, the sister found her brother hanging. It does not sound as if any adult had the opportunity to hang him, timelinewise. Third of all, listen to the Dad. He does not sound like a killer.
My 14 y/o daughter has struggled with the isolation a lot. We have gone out and done random things just to break up the monotoney of doing nothing...
I believe that it is a real concern.
That is one of the sickest, most ignorant and heartless replies I have seen here ever.
No. It is the sickest.
Really??? That is what you got out of that video?
Please share how you came to that conclusion.
Sad, but a 12 year old killing themselves over COVID shutdown? I suspect the poor kid had underlying mental or emotional problems.
I mustve missed that subtext. Nice of you to slander the deceased kid based on nothing though.
I don’t know anyone personally who has the Chicom Cooties. I know two people who committed suicide during this Panicdemic.
“Sad, but a 12 year old killing themselves over COVID shutdown? I suspect the poor kid had underlying mental or emotional problems.”
****
I think so too. Most of my nephews and nieces just play video games and enjoy the “isolation”. So the message I get here is that lockdowns are bad?
Earlier generations took a lot more gut punches and marched forward.
Apparently those generations forgot to include fortitude in some of the DNA packages they passed on.
In any event, RIP. Child and condolences to the ones you left behind.
No child that age is gay. Sexually abused yes, gay no.
Depressed kids can hide their feelings. I bet the parents had no idea how bad Hayden felt. This is just so sad. (It could have happened even in a Coronavirus free world)

...
Children never killed themselves before COVID.
I take it your daughter isn’t into videogames or online communities, then?
