This is a perfect example of the market in action. They make a decision about their business. You make a decision about patronage.

Let this simple principle go to work and open up the economy.

Can't because public health measure while reopening the economy violate their constitutional rights to do as they please regardless of consequence to anyone else.

I called the general manager in Buford, GA yesterday. Our son cannot wear a mask due to sensory issues. He has Phelan McDermid Syndrome (pmsf.org). He said that all we have to say is we can’t for medical reasons, and staff have to let us in and can’t ask further questions.

As a side note, he told me he was having his worst day ever there as people were calling and expressing very strong displeasure. Also, several people were canceling memberships and asking for refunds for their membership due to change in terms for the membership.

Saw video story yesterday that keeping a requirement of wearing masks keeps this issue in the front of individuals minds causing scare tactics to continue regardless of the back to work plans. Demonic.

Congress to to pass legislation protecting biz, both big and small, from WuFlu civil liability.

That would have a tough one on constitutional grounds. Lawsuits over civil torts are adjudicated in state courts, so Congress has almost no power to force civil immunity in state matters.

I suspect the only way to do this would be to dangle an enormous pile of stimulus/recovery money in front of states, and make them pass their own civil immunity laws in each state as a condition of getting the money.

The avalanche of lawsuits will be the next chapter in this story”

The President knows this. He is pushing for litigation protection for opening businesses. Unless it can be done with an EO it’s not going to happen. One of the two largest rat contributes is the trial lawyers. This thing is going to make the tobacco money chase look like a kool-aid stand.

I’ve made a few for other people — Mom, elderly friends, etc. — and was tempted to embroider, “F**k China” (without asterisks) on the front. Then I decided I had better things to do with my time.

How can one prove that one got the virus there? It is impossible.

It is like proving you got the virus at work and claim workers compensation.

“I have uromysotisis.”

That’s a bad malady, especially when it suddenly hits you in a parking garage.

It's a private business. They can do whatever the hell they want

I agree with that up to the point about being responsible about public health - I don't believe a fried chicken chain has a constitutional right to serve deep fried sewer rat for instance.

But according to the hard core private business decisions are interfering with their won constitutional rights.

I’m not going to walk around wearing a symbol of irrational fear. And a damned uncomfortable one at that.

Not crowding other folks ... I’m cool with that. I do that in normal times. I’m a friendly guy, glad to chew the fat with anyone — but please give me my elbow room.

I could say much the same about hand washing. Clean hands are good 365 days a year.

But this mask thing creeps me out in a major bad way.

Governor De Santis is phasing out our Florida lockdown starting Monday. I can’t wait for people to come back to their senses — this whole fiasco was just a repeat of the 1957 Asian flu or the 1968 Hong Kong flu.

The 1957 flu killed between 70,000 and 116,000 Americans, according to the Wikipedia article. And that’s out of a population of about 178 million.

It’s simple arithmetic. Thank God, we have a long way to go before this Wu flu matches the 1957 flu, on a per capita basis.

The Wu flu is bad. The assault on our freedom is worse.

It will be fun for me and my wife.

We haven’t worn masks anywhere this whole time. We will go in with our gas masks.

Not while Trump is still in office.

Apparently, you have chosen to be a troll or you have simply consumed the Kool-Aid.

May I suggest you abandon those pursuits and simply contact Bill Kristol, Linda Chavex and Mitt Romney...they need money for their treasonous organization, the supposedly conservative "Republicans for the Rule of Law" scam.

Let them troll for you, IF you send them money, of course.

As an aside, do you REALLY think a child-molesting, doddering, senile old fool would or could do anything better?

The old bastard ain't even capable of tying his own damned shoes...and THAT is what you want?

Sucks to be you, I guess.

Trump: 2020!

Good question, although it’s possible there is plenty of supply in general while there are shortages in specific locations.

“Stand on your constitutional right to spread contagion.”

There is no evidence the very brief moments near someone in a store are spreading the virus. Considerable evidence to the contrary. It takes sustained time in fairly close contact for it to spread.

Costco can do what they want. Me? I’ll look for businesses elsewhere.
