The timeline will crush more people and ruin more businesses.
People are caught up in an excessive government response to a very weak virus. I probably have immunity from past flu. Nobody asked me what to do though.
Vacation homes on the lakes in Maine, Kittery Outlet Mall in Kittery, Beech Ridge Raceway, Lobster restaurants, Boating... and cement (only Cement manufacturer in New England).
Blue states are not going to open until they can get some federal taxpayer money. In the mean time, the people who want to open for business and pay taxes are going to move to states where they can do business.
Bump
I sure hope people remember this come election time.
They need to oust the dem governors who are destroying their states.
How many of the 50 were over 85 and in poor health? This is what it was like in Salem in 1692
Mills has spent all the rainy day fund BEFORE Covid struck
She is in the process of implimenting a tax per mile driven plan, she hasnt heard that it is already in place and called the gas tax
She is a wealthy priviliged leftist, lawyer with many weealthy friends and a very connected and wealthy background. In a very poor state. She is a second Pelosi and Clinton rolled into one.
Some of these Governors have their head so far up their A$$ they could check themselves for bowel cancer.
This is about getting the people to vote in a communist government in November. A collapsed capitalist economy normally results in a totalitarian takeover.
BINGO
Paul LePage had two terms....elected in 2010 and re-elected in 2014.
However, he can run again in 2022 and he said he wants to do just that.
The lobster industry, 100 million pounds in a good season.....scallops, clams, mussels, fish.....Bath Iron Works in Southern Maine; they build ships for the Navy....New Balance shoes.....paper, lumber, pulp, etc.; historically, a multi-billion dollar industry, has declined in recent years....
Tourism, the number one industry, multi-billion dollar industry; thousands of motels, hotels, resorts, bed-and-breakfasts, restaurants, shops, stores, etc.....blueberries.....apples.....potatoes....the elver industry in the spring; glass eels, which sell for $2,500 per pound to buyers in Asia; before quotas, a guy near me made two million dollars in a two month season....
Internet based businesses, selling a wide variety of products worldwide.....boat building, ship building....construction, etc.
The tourism industry this year, however, is going to be in big trouble because of the Chinese virus and the (over) reaction to it.
“...but they are all on the dole and stupid.”

Not everyone....the 1st congressional district, 20% of the state in the southeast corner, and the home of the bulk of the Chinese virus positive cases, is the liberal area.
The Second congressional district....80% of Maine, mostly rural....was carried by Donald Trump in 2016 by 10 points.
Second Amendment country, with both Constitutional carry and Open carry.
I saw this on Facebook, interesting: “Her plan is to STARVE CONSERVATIVE RURAL MAINE to “protect” more populated LIBERAL VOTING VIRUS HOT SPOTS! This is EXACTLY WHY SHAH and MILLS REFUSE TO PRODUCE TOWN by TOWN and DISTRICT by DISTRICT VIRUS MAPPING! The presentation of real time mapping will prove much of her motive is POLITICAL!”
My daughter lives in Maine and I know that there is some tourism, lotsa cool lighthouses, Acadia Park, etc but the only thing we’ve really found to do besides eating out is going to LL Bean.
Many of those industries should not be shut down.
The Statehouse is fully RAT.
This is why Trump play back to federalism is brilliant
democrat states will suck ass and the republican states will do great
Democrats Democrats states for a third government and Republicans and republican states all of their government
Americans love freedom
Aside from a few ski areas, Maine makes its money in the summer, from tourism. Summer camps, small scale lodging, commercial fishermen, restaurants ... this is economic suicide.
Totally agree. Economic suicide and total insanity, as there are so few cases of the Wuhan virus in Maine. Hubby and I booked a few days at a really nice resort (that is usually very expensive) in early June in Kennebunkport. We were thrilled at the bargain we got because it was slightly off season. Guess that's off now.
If the great conservative Maine Governor Paul LePage was still in office, I'll bet you and I would be happily planning our early June vacations in Maine right now... :-(
Same here. I totally agree that Maine is toast now. Can Paul LePage run for governor again?? He'll find a way to bring Maine back (eventually).
So stage three is NOTHING except continue 1 and 2 what the hell is that??
