The virus is a fake issue. Open now.
Far-left Democrat governor, follows leftie marching orders to the T.
About a thousand cases, about 50 deaths, and a grand total of 33 in the hospital now.
Dem house, senate, governor, far left media.
Maine needs to teach her a lesson, but they are all on the dole and stupid
Maine has an economy?
What’s in Maine anyways, besides LL Bean?
“quarantine of all people entering or returning to Maine for a period of 14 days”
This is Moose Shit!
I’d booked a week at a fishing camp for early June. Been going there for years. The camp is in Washington County, where they’ve seen a grand total of 2 cases (since recovered). Right now the owner is saying “we won’t snitch” but he’s not the one who’d be towing a boat w/out of state plates. Those guys might not survive this.
Aside from a few ski areas, Maine makes its money in the summer, from tourism. Summer camps, small scale lodging, commercial fishermen, restaurants ... this is economic suicide.
Yeah but at least lobster is under $5.00lb.
Janet....sure hope you are revising the state’s budget because there will be a revenue shortfall.
Maine is toast. Tourism is huge portion of economy and the season is remarkably short. July-August. I like going in June, Sept and October because it’s real quiet. It’s hard enough in a normal year for shops and restaurants to survive Sad.
These people are absolutely insane.
A very significant portion of Their economy is the summer tourist season. This plan basically destroys any chance of them having a tourist season, at best they will get less than a month. That is absolutely devastating and most likely Destroying thousands of small businesses in the process.
Honestly does it really matter? Didn’t Mitch McConnell say he would bail out the States with a little catch?
So they will just get the government money.
You cannot go farther left than Janet Mills. Maine has one of lowest virus rates in the US.
Bring back Paul LePage!
Vote for stupid. Ruled by stupid!
So if you are going to your summer home on Sebago Lake and you are from Massachusetts or Connecticut, you got to be quarantined in place? For 14 days? Great 2 week vacation... Doing nothing...
I can get a hair cut next week, but have to wait until June to get dinner. Not sure how they are going to differentiate between bars and restaurants as in Maine most restaurants serve alcohol (except fast food places).
My church barely has a parking lot so I don’t think we are going to be doing drive in church.
I didn’t know car washes were supposed to be closed. I don’t think they did either. Self serve car washes were certainally open.
May 1:
The prohibition on gatherings of more than 10 people continues, but the following can reopen:
Health care providers, with recommendations that they prioritize care for patients with time-sensitive conditions
Personal services: barber shops, hair salons and pet grooming
Limited drive-in, stay-in-your-vehicle religious services
Drive-in movie theaters
Outdoor recreation: guided outdoor activities (hunting and fishing) and restricted use of golf and disc golf courses
State parks, state-owned public land trails and historic sites; certain coastal state parks will remain closed
Auto dealerships and car washes
June 1:
The limit on gatherings rises to 50 people. Some people can return to their workplaces, including state employees. With limitations, the following can reopen:
Restaurants
Fitness and exercise centers and nail technicians
Retail stores
Lodging and campgrounds for Maine residents and those who have met the 14-day quarantine requirement
Day camps for Maine children and those who have met the 14-day quarantine requirement
Coastal state parks
July 1:
The prohibition on gatherings of more than 50 people continues. The following can reopen:
Hotels, campgrounds, summer camps and RV parks for Maine residents and visitors. Reservations should not be taken until state guidelines are issued.
Outdoor recreation such as charter boats and boat excursions
Bars
Personal services such as spas, tattoo and piercing parlors, and massage facilities, among others
It is full of confusing requirements. When does the 14 day quarantine end? July 1? But Phase 3 opening says “maintaining the prohibition on gatherings of more than 50 people and other Stage 1 and Stage 2 restrictions, including the 14-day quarantine on people entering Maine” which would extend the quarantine until September.
Maine loses about 300/year to the flu. It stands to lose around 100 to COVID cooties.
The legislature could step in, but it won’t.
The quarantine has been in place for a month.
I’m asking if locating Massholes who haven’t quarantined is a 911 emergency. After all, they might be COVID, and we’ll all die or at least have our difficulty extended. Class E crime (misdemandor), $1,000 and 6 months. Signs posted at the borders, so they all have notice.
Who do I call to rat them out?
I live in New Hampshire I can see my moron rino Governor chris Sununu doing the same.
