Albeit obscenely late and buried on a Saturday afternoon, there was a small victory for those demanding TV news networks cover former Senate staffer Tara Reade’s sexual assault allegations against Joe Biden as CNN broke its on-air silence with a seven-minute-and-30-second segment.
The mea culpa came less than 24 hours after a bombshell story from The Intercept alleging Reade’s mother called into the August 11, 1993 Larry King Live on CNN and vaguely alluded to her daughter’s ordeal. Early Friday night, the Media Research Center quickly located, clipped, published, and tweeted the video, becoming the first outlet to share it with the world. Of course, CNN refused to give either site credit.
In the case of CNN’s case, CNN Newsroom host Fredricka Whitfield and national political correspondent M.J. Lee worked overtime to defend Biden, spending 40 percent of the report defending the 2020 Democratic presidential candidate and take jabs at Reade’s credibility.
The moment came at 1:29 p.m. Eastern with Whitfield pivoting “to the 2020 campaign and why a video from 1993 is part of today’s political discussion” and asked Lee to “tell us how this video could relate to a sexual assault allegation made against Joe Biden dating to that time when he was a senator and first of all, M.J., can you bring us up to speed on the allegation itself.”
That’s quite the understatement. Before this. CNN.com had only two stories about Reade (one from just before the segment and then April 17, both penned by Lee).

I read that headline as “CNN Finally Breaks Air ...” Okay, I’ve recomposed myself. Are there still actual people who watch that garbage? I mean people who still have enough on the ball to work the remote control. Outside of Republican Senators and Congressmen, who actually cares what CNN says?

You need to give it time. The HR Staff Chief who denies receiving the complaint, contradicted by the plaintiff, may change her story. Take the long view. But it’s interesting that the MSM has had an on-again—off-again affair with this story. Some substantial people want to dump him, in the absence of a committment by Mrs. Obama.

Additionally, a thread today on FR said the Dem establishment is simply watching to see if they think they can beat DJT. If they do, this story suddenly becomes credible and Biden is ushered the door for someone they think is actual viable. If they don't think they can win, it's Biden in a "Mondale" move.

Maybe now CNN and MSNBC and ABC/CBS/NBC and all of the liberal media, can finally ask Bill Clinton to resign his presidency and allow Al Gore to assume the presidency. After all, what Joe did is child’s play in comparison to what Bill Clinton’s accusers say he did to them, including rape. Has Joe raped anybody, or accused of it?
Biden is beating Trump in every poll. The fact that he’s mentally losing it doesn’t matter. Donald Trump is being beaten by a senile old fool who’s a serial sex abuser as well. Let them keep believing that.

I am also surprised by the sheer audacity some politicians have to know they have a major scandal and yet go ahead to present themselves to the populace. Whether it is Biden and this case, or John Edwards before him with his case. They must really think voters are fools and/or they are above the law. It really is amazing.
