Democrats Expect ‘In-Person Convention,’ Party Chairman Says
The Epoch Times ^ | April 25, 2020 | The Associated Press

ATLANTA—Democratic Party chairman Tom Perez said Thursday that he expects to hold an in-person convention in Milwaukee to nominate Joe Biden for president, though he didn’t rule out the potential that portions of the event would be conducted virtually.

The convention is slated for the week of Aug. 17, but precise dates remain up in the air after Perez and party officials scrapped their original July 13-16 plans amid the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus pandemic.

“We expect to hold an in-person convention in Milwaukee. We are planning for that,” Perez told reporters on a telephone call. “At the same time, we do not put our public health heads in the sand. We don’t do that right now. We won’t do that in the run-up.”

Perez said he’s optimistic about forecasts he said suggest COVID-19 could begin a downward slope in Wisconsin later this spring.

“We moved the convention back five or six weeks so that we can have more time” to decide, Perez said. “Wisconsin right now is in the throes of the pandemic. What many experts tell us is that they expect it to improve beginning in May. We will monitor the situation on the ground.”

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers, a Democrat, recently extended his state’s stay-at-home order until May 26. He also released a three-phase plan to reopen the state’s economy, building off recommendations from the White House and federal officials. But the plan does not specifically address the convention or other large gatherings.

Wonderful news! Maybe the Bernie Bots will get a chance to riot after all, despite their idol selling out once again.

Technically speaking, the purpose of the convention is to nominate candidates for president and vice-president.

They really don’t need to rent out a convention center or sports arena for a week, to conduct the needed business.

I hear that there is schmoozing and partying going on at these conventions, quite apart from the actual business at hand. And this happens for both parties; not to single out Democrats here, as Republican conventions see their share of partying too.

Then they shouldn’t object to in person voting with ID required.

Whether in person or online, the Democrat National Committee meeting is going to be a farce anyway.

Posturing, noise, calls for “unity” (whatever that means to this rabid bunch), and general grumbling and disobedience to the normal rules of order will be the highlights of this konklave in Milwaukee.

And they all will come with such high hopes.

In person voting with valid ID or thumbprint. Absentee ballots for military only.

We have mail in only here in Washington, and the Rats never lose statewide races - continuous recounts as necessary until they manufacture the desired results.

The real fun will be if the Democrat/Left Party does hold its convention but requires every attendee to wear a mask and keep two yards apart (that's a 12-foot diameter cleared area around each and every delegate).

Can you just imagine the rousing cheers:
for Biden: "Midenfff! Midenfff!"
or for Sanders: "Merneephhh! Merneephhh!

And the floor fights for the Democrat/Left Party platform will be a once-in-a-lifetime comedy extravaganza as emotionally-charged verbal disagreements would have to be shouted through masks from six feet away all throughout the convention floor: "Nobil normingfff!" "No!! Amortionphhhh!" "No way! Repharashunsfff fmor mlacks!!!"

I would normally have no interest at all in watching the Democrat/Left convention ... but if this is the way it goes down (and at this point, I don't see the Democrats/Leftists making any changes to "virus policy" that would make Trump look good), I wouldn't miss it for just about anything!

I haven’t read anything to indicate that things will get better in May.

Perhaps a convention center outfitted with decontamination chambers at the entrances.

Dems are already competent with flea powders, condoms, anti-fungal products and a host of other personal protectorants

Not to worry. It’s a party. What could go wrong?

Honestly you can’t believe anything the rats say. Whatever they say has shelf life of about ten seconds if it was even true in the first place.

It would be a shame if all those ‘RATs got arrested for violating social distancing rules.

They also know that the Pubbies are going for in person. My good friend the National Committeewoman from Maryland has been advocating this and has a background from the Labor Department in creating plans for such things.
