An NYPD cop is in hot water after the brand-new Cadillac she was driving ended up in the drink near Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn, police and sources told The Post on Friday.
Officer Halima Hadire, 39, is now on modified duty and had her gun and badge taken from her while the department probes the incident.
The officer told cops she was with a 42-year-old man in his glitzy new ride near a boat ramp around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday when the vehicle had a mechanical issue, sources said. The policewoman was off-duty at the time.
Hadire said she mistakenly hit the SUVs accelerator instead of its brakes as the pair was trying to figure out what was going on and the next thing they knew, they and the vehicle were in Jamaica Bay, sources said.
The vehicle began sinking, but the pair was able to scramble out and to safety, Hadire told investigators, sources said.

She was looking for a new car, she tested my car. She lost control of the vehicle, and we ended up in the water. ___________________________________________
That is the quote from her boyfriend...The boyfriend had some legal problems in the past...
Internal Affairs is investigating...
One question...What is this lady cop's ethnic background?...I am just curious...She looks like the member of Congress from Michigan...You know the one whose parents came from Palestine...
I think the producer for BLUE BLOODS should take notes on this case...What would Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) do in this case?
She and the boyfriend escaped from the SUV after it hit water...A scene from some movie...
I doubt that this lady cop would get fired for this "accident"...
I remember driving home from atlantic city in the middle of the night..made a few wrong turns and went down a ramp then went right into the water!!
Stopped just in time.
What kind of road ramp goes right into the water with nothing blocking it from idiots like me going right into the water!!
Boat ramps. Didnt you see the sign? :) best approach is to back in, if you intend to get out of the vehicle be sure to place it in Park and set the Emergency brake. Dont laugh, Ive seen three different vehicles backed into lakes and rivers. Four boasts launched without the plug in. One of them mine. Need I say embarrassing?
That's almost as bad as sending out coronavirus tests contaminated with coronavirus.
Cop: “Alright, who’s the U-boat commander?”

Yes! It sounds like a scene from Taxi, with Jimmy Fallon and Queen Latifah! Jimmy plays a NYC cop who can’t drive. :)
It also reminds me of that episode of The Office, where Michael Scott drives into a lake. LOL
He moaned “Ohh,Ohh,Ohh”
But I thought he said
GO! GO! GO!
Yep! Misspelled boats. Then no plug in? Good grief. Best part was you run like hell with the bilge pump on and put the plug in the boat. Then socially distance in your favorite fishing spot. Social distancing means no having to share the ice cold beer.
“glitzy new ride “
WTF is a glitzy?
He moaned Ohh,Ohh,Ohh
But I thought he said
GO! GO! GO!

I don’t know if we will ever find out what happened between the lady cop and her boyfriend before the crash...
The poor thing probably tangled in her burqa.
One day I was taking one of my boys to an ice hockey game in NJ and we passed a small lake with a Chevy pickup sinking. Through the ice. Driver watched. Stoned or drunk or dazed? Never found out.
BTW, we didn’t stop because it was off road and we didn’t see a road leading down to the lake.
She’s lying.
They went parking. In the course of mounting her boyfriend in a sexual tryst, her foot hit the accelerator after her ass had bumped the transmission in gear.
Voila!
Coitus flotus interruptus!
Give her a medal and put her back to work?
Give her a burqua and put her in the vice squad.
Cue the L&O chung-chung sound.
All of them
Did Stephanie Plum move up from bail-bondsman to NYPD cop?
