A new NBC News/WSJ poll also shows how the past month has changed Americans attitudes about the coronavirus.
In March, 53 percent of voters said theyre worried that someone in their immediate family would catch the disease. Now its 73 percent.
Also in March, a combined 26 percent said the coronavirus has changed their day-to-day life in a very or fairly major way. Now its 77 percent.

Keep in mind they have a very high death rate.
But they are old and sick, so ‘f them—right?
How have I said I am tied to any model? Please show me anywhere in the last three months where I did anything of the like.
In fact, several times I have posted to you and said the people doing the charts and counting are fools.
In fact, all along, I have said this was not about the deaths. It was about overwhelming the hospitals (which hasnt happened) and gumming up the econonmy (which has.)
So...please tell me where I steered you wrong? Its because you do not read and understand that you are so single minded.
You said you acre about your community above, and now you dont. So where you lying then or now? Or now that you have demonstrated yourself a liar, why should we ever believe another things that comes out of your mouth. Thank you for showing us who you are. Now as you have suggested you dont care -- take your marbles and go home. Let those of us who care about the liberties of all our citizens do the work. Goodbye and Good Riddance.
I, too, am glad that we have a commonality.
Id like to know where you live where restaurants and churches are open. i have replied to people with a great deal more restraint than has been shown me and I stand by what I have said from the start. There is a virus. It is real. Some will unfortunately die. None of it merits the mass hysteria and loss of civil liberty we have seen. I also said it seems no worse tha. H1N1 and I stand by that as well. As for bullies look at your fellow fearpers. Threatening people seems to be their MO. If I have called you a name that was other than descriptive of your position such as fearper I apologize It is not my intent to be as uncivil as others have been to me.
And you do?
At least I am honest about.
I live in a community where I have liberty. We fought for that in the 1640s against King Phillip. And every war since.
We go to town meeting every year and we stand.
How about you? What have you stood for in defense of the liberty in your community?
Don’t like the rules? Go stand. Posting here is not a stand. Its bullshit.
I thought you said you were leaving? Aren’t you gone already?
“But they are old and sick, so f themright?”
Small thing, but that’s part of your standard reply.
Yep.
We cant stay shut down forever, there has to be some sort of personal understanding of the risks associated, and the steps needed to protect ones self as best as possible.
‘Im 71 w/slightly high BP (no meds) and occasional bronchitis of unknown etiology, normal BMI...would you consider that high risk?’
for what it’s worth, I wouldn’t...now myself, I am 71, I have had a mild heart attack (I don’t believe it, but the doc tells me I did), HPB and elevated LDL lipids (on meds for both), and coronary arterial disease to some extent...I believe I am vulnerable, but I’ll still take my chances in a free and open country...
Im not a flubro but i am starting to think robust shutdowns are worse than the disease. Deaths are overwhelmingly from people
65+.
Instead of spending 2 trillion to subsidize a countrywide shutdown, why dont we spend much less to help vulnerable populations shelter in place and open everything back up for able-bodied people with social
Distancing in place? That is what Sweden is doing and they are keeping infections manageable while preserving jobs.
get lost, loser - I’m “essential” and busting my ass, full time
If that is the case you are certainly good at firing at those in the foxhole with you....
LOL!!!
Worldwide
Thank you for what you do. I hate the term essential. It is a cancer. Every American is essential. Every job is essential because someone values it in the free market. As Regan said, we are but one generation away from the loss of liberty — and it appears that there are those here who are happy to push us over that cliff. Liberty is not safe, it has risks. but liberty also has the inherent protection of the vulnerable in it as we freedom loving people will also responsibly take care of this who need it because we are free to do so, not forced.
Thank you for busting your ass every day...you are the very essence of America.
We had 61,000 deaths in the 2017-2018 flu season. Up to this point, even with inflated statistics (Counting any death a COVID-19 death if the person died and tested positive for COVID-19, even if the actual cause of death was a heart attack), we have not yet exceeded typical flu season range.
And the vast majority of deaths are elderly.
I walked into my church this morning while I was on a walk. Did they bar the doors in MD? In Western Ma the doors are open to anyone who wants to go in and talk to God.
I’ve gotten meals once a week from a the places in town. I eat dinner with the most beautiful girl in town every night.
Who is espousing hysteria? Maybe Fox news. Not I.
I never advocated anything but making sure you prepared for this. I’ve never said anything one way or the other about the shut down.
You put words in mouth. You espouse the hysteria. You are the one who voted in poor reps and governments.
Because I have the liberty to move about as I want, with no impedance, I trust my local government. My governor hasn’t locked me in my house. But we have brains.
My town also has one of the highest rates per thousand due to a couple of nursing homes and a high percentage of Docs and nurses that were infected early on.
And yet....I can stroll around the streets. I can get a burger at the local joint. I am not held back from the grocery store.
Who’s fault is that?
So, again...who is espousing fear. If I just relied on the flubros, I would think it impossible to leave my house without having my neck under the boot of the local stasi.
My posts are tame compared to yours.
And yet...you do nothing. Where were the hundreds of arrests in Maryland today? Will I see them tomorrow. You and your ilk should make the state cops haul you in by the busload (sitting a good social distance apart.)
You all feel so strongly. Yet the best you can do is give me a hard time.
Who’s fault is that?
