CARROLLTON, Ga. (WSAV) Two Georgia high school seniors have been expelled and will reportedly not graduate after posting a racist video on social media.
Two seniors at Carrollton High School posted the video on TikTok on Thursday, where it quickly went viral and spread across other social media platforms. The video shows the two students using the n-word and saying derogatory things about African Americans.
The students, one boy and one girl, can be seen in a bathroom mimicking a cooking show using labeled cups of water.
First, we have black, the girl can be heard saying, as the boy pours a cup of water in the sink. Next, we have dont have a dad.
The two then pour cups of water labeled Eat watermelon and fried chicken, Rob people, and Go to jail into the sink, and skip pouring a cup labeled Make good choices.
The students were quickly identified, and Carrollton City School District Superintendent Dr. Mark Albertus issued a statement Thursday night.
Please know this video is being addressed immediately and any student involved in the production of this video will face serious consequences, Albertus said.
Ya think?
Tik-Tok is a Chinese site. Stay away.
If there is one year where not graduating is not a big deal, its this year. No celebrations. A mailed in diploma. Take the GED next week and get started on community college on line classes. If it were any other year, itd matter. But this year? So what.
Citizens willing to enforce the plan, by force of arms if necessary, is the “guarantee.”
Yup, for once I totally agree the two idiots should be expelled.
And, unlike most of the crap that we read about, these two indeed WERE racists.
Black people are stereotypes as having a specific food culture they do not stray from, some considering it like immature, others akin to giving peanuts to chimps.
So, they love particularly watermelon and chicken, but I also think it is because of their specific metabolism, the one that allowed them to retain water on slave ships and have lean muscle mass. I have G6PD and cannot eat most vegetables.
Yes, and the reference as watermelons... when we know vegans make people feel guiltynfor eating meat, especially me with my severe form of G6PD precluding me from eating most fruits and vegetables.
For some reason that politically toned racist diet of vegans is absolutely fine.
I was taught, at my Mothers knees, to neither give nor take offense. Giving offense darkens our witness, if done purposefully, 1 Corinthians 10:32 comes to mind, but taking offense demonstrates immaturity in Christ, and is a breach of Love Thy neighbor as thyself.
Neither give nor take offense, these kids need a spanking
“Can you explain to me how the school is within any legal rights by expelling these students for what they did while (a) not on school property and (b) not under the supervision of the school?”
Exactly. Government schools cannot claim to provide free education but only to those that meet their speech requirements.
Thats fine and dandy but what does THE SCHOOL have to do with it?? The school has zero authority to expel these jerks. As bad as the video is, Id lawyer up pronto and sue the pants off of that district.
As I was told long ago, “The Constitution is just words, ink on paper. Except for the Second Amendment. That one you can touch. Te onlt ony one that has physical presence”
Yes it does.
Our government can NOT punish us for what we say or express.
And what did this school just do?
“The”
What ever happened to “teachable moments”?
Instead of having them write 100 times on the blackboard, “I will not post on the Internet stupid, derogatory blanket statements about ANYONE”, the School should have required them to complete a research project, complete with new postings on social media about positive accomplishments of blacks.
Perhaps even a “walk a mile in my shoes” project mentored by wise and kindly, accomplished blacks from their own community.
Likewise. And in addition, I love Publix fried chicken.
These two are idiots - and this school system is likely to lose a 1A lawsuit.
Even requiring the students to complete additional work as a condition of a graduation diploma could be viewed as a violation of the equal protection clause of thee Constitution.
Free speech is free speech. There was more education in that display than an entire 4 years of HS.
The video may have been in poor taste, but it will work wonders for these students college applications.
my car was broken into and robbed by blacks 4 years ago. I decided to move because of it
‘If this didnt happen at school I dont see where the school has authority to do this.’
it doesn’t; it’s simply preening its virtues...
