What ever happened to “teachable moments”?

Instead of having them write 100 times on the blackboard, “I will not post on the Internet stupid, derogatory blanket statements about ANYONE”, the School should have required them to complete a research project, complete with new postings on social media about positive accomplishments of blacks.

Perhaps even a “walk a mile in my shoes” project mentored by wise and kindly, accomplished blacks from their own community.

Even requiring the students to complete additional work as a condition of a graduation diploma could be viewed as a violation of the equal protection clause of thee Constitution.

An essay written on a 3x5 card would have made more people mad.
