I’m amazed at how many people have crappy doors.
I have multiple weapons, cameras, and alarms.
But the first line of defense I have are metal or heavy metal-reinforced doors -— with frame reinforcement like Door Armor (a 4 foot long strike plate that mounts with 8 12 cm screws) and accompanying hinge reinforcement.
Two Assa Ably deadbolts (keyed alike).
It would take a bartering ram to get through my doors — and the AA locks can’t be bumped (and the keys can’t be duplicated).
It’s just not that hard.
batering = “battering”
if you have windows on the first floor, how does having a super door help?
Most apartments will not let you alter their front door.

Ever heard of The a Lockpicking Lawyer?

I have two Abloy locks left over from my trucking days. Pretty expensive at the time but worth every penny.
Assa Abloy now does windows as well.
That’s a good start.
As a combat engineer, I can tell you that a true believer won’t be using the door. Breaching a wall would be my first choice.
If you live in a single family frame home, a common chain saw will slice an ingress breach in about a minute ( gotta trip the pole breaker first....).
But for common perps, reinforcement of window/doors is good .
Most apartments are wood frame as well. It’s the prefab or monolithic concrete that makes for the need of more energetic means ....
Anyway,
Some idiots broke into a neighbor’s house by using crowbars to break open the security door, admittedly a cheap one.
Five feet away was a window that was half-open.
