Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation's top infectious disease expert spoke about when he knew the coronavirus was getting serious. Fauci said, as soon as there was community spread
then it became clear that we were in real trouble
that was towards the middle to end of January.

Thanks for the link.
Who is lying about what he said? Did you watch the Sharpton interview?
It does seem like some of Dr. Fauci's recent statements are inconsistent with what he was telling the public in the past.
His statement that he was getting pushback on his desire to close down the country sooner is inconsistent with his statement the the risk "is really relatively low" and "right now don't worry".
You are not respnding to what is being said in the thread. The issue is not with what Fauci said on 1/26 & 2/29 and whether he was wrong or right.
The issue with Fauci is that he is lying now about his past statements and saying that if POTUS had followed his recommendations weeks earlier less people would have died.
In the clip I attached, his recommendations on 2/29 were that people should go about their normal activities because risk was low.
So either has Alzheimer’s or he’s a liar and trying to throw POTUS under the bus.
Jan 21, Dr. Fauci makes this statement about the Coronavirus:
“This is not a major threat to the people of the United States and this is not
something that the citizens of the United States should be worried about
right now,
Middle to end of January was when FR became aware of CV. He should have been aware a long time before us. Oh, that’s right, he was aware and already had a Event 201 back in Oct.
Get the OANN reporter to ask him directly about his contradictions at the next White house briefing.
I don’t see that quoting Dr. Fauci’s statement that the risk “is really relatively low” is lying about what he said. How could that be?
CNN is leading a full scale assault on Trump trying to say he dragged his feet on getting serious about the virus resulting in the deaths of thousands of people. From the minute Trump said he knew nothing about Navarros memo until a little later they have smelled blood in the water. If was the sorry ass media that didnt take anything serious. Trump talked about it in his state of the Union that the bitch Pelosi tore up.
So, it, at that time, was low because it wasn't substantially in the US amongst those not being tracked and contained, but that could change at any moment when it becomes community-spread.
Nothing in there suggests that the virus was not a concern overall, merely that it was not at that moment a concern in day-to-day life in the US at that moment. Is that really controversial?
Even here on FR, those who weren't flubros, were discussing getting ready for the future, but only a handful were talking about holing up yet or otherwise changing what they were doing daily. There wasn't even 1 known case in the US yet aside from evacuees. It didn't make it to 100 cases until 3/8.
I get that the news cycle is fast, and it seems like forever we've been talking about this, but for the US pretty much the entirety of the outbreak is in the past 4 weeks.
Shut the FAUC up!
YOu really are confused. Slow down and actually read.
THE POINT IS not that Fauci said something wrong or inconsistent, as I said before.
The point is that now he claims that he told POTUS that it was time to social distance weeks before POTUS instituted social distancing and many lives could have been saved if POTUS had followed Fauci’s advice. POTUS announced the start of social distancing March 16.
Posted on this thread are Fauci’s statements saying that no special behaviors need be done from 1/26, 2/29. and March 9: “I think if youre a healthy young person that there is no reason, if you want to go on a cruise ship to go on cruise ship.”
From another poster on April 3 Fauci claims Trump always took Fsuci seriously (from NYT):
When I speak to him about issues that are substantive, he listens. I think he always understood the seriousness of it. Right now, as the numbers are becoming crystal clear, he himself is articulating an awareness of that seriousness. But from the beginning, he always took it seriously.
So Fauci is lying, rewriting the past when he says that POTUS delayed in following Fauci’s advise.
POTUS closed to China 1/31 & to Europe 3/12 and instituted the 15 day plan 3/16.
During that time period Fauci repeatedly stated there was no need for people to change their normal behavior. There was no advise to quarantine, nothing that would have potentially saved anyone even if you believe in the efficacy of the quarantine. Fauci downplayed the need to close to travel from hot spots after POTUs announced the closures.
In short Fauci is trying to rewrite history and create a false narrative.
I've been on Cipro twice.
Sidelining him is the way to go. He will retire in disgrace. What could have been his moment in history will go down as the negative affect his advice had on the economy. He will still get propped up by the CNNs and MSNBCs but he's not a likable guy. People will see him as a bitter geek

Youre 3-4 weeks off, it was that much later.
