You don’t need to be an expert with guns to know that a large and messy exit wound is more likely to transfer kinetic energy to the target (and cause it to move in the opposite direction) than a small entry wound. It’s basic physics. The side of JFK’s head blowing off is what moved his head backwards. The conspiratorial assumption that this meant the shot came form the front is erroneous.

There’s nothing that even hints at him being an asset. Even the soviets wanted nothing to with him. They recognized he was unstable.

Just a couple of thoughts on this:
It was never the multiple shooters that made me think it was a conspiracy. It was the fact that after Oswald was taken into custody, he was shot by a guy with mafia connections that owned a strip club, closing the loop.
Just amazing that JFK, RFK, MLK, John Lennon, and Ronald Reagan, were all shot by lone nuts.
Squeaky Fromme tried to shoot Gerald Ford, but her .45 semi-auto jammed. Seventeen days later, a former FBI informant with "mental problems" tried to shoot him. If Ford had been assassinated, the President would have been Nelson Rockefeller.
J. Edgar Hoover always claimed there was no organized crime in America. The JFK movie was made to muddy the water, not clear it up.

Yes, even if oswald was the successful lone gunman, that doesn’t disprove a conspiracy. After what the fedgov le/intel edifice has just done to try and get rid of trump, I can’t believe anyone can say they weren’t in on it. The Viietnam war was a cia war.
In my late adolescence I found the book "Something of Value" on my Mothers book shelf. The British used unconscionable acts as PSYOPS against the Mau Mau to crush the spiritualist tribal beliefs.
On a side note, I have no doubt that Barack Hussein Obama Sr. was an active militant in exile from the Mau Mau uprising.

If Castro did it, that would have been an act of war. Not even the USSR could have protected him.
If the Mafia did it, the entire Federal law enforcement arm would be down on their necks. Mafiosi were already running scared from RFK’s investigations.
The Soviets regarded JFK as both malleable & useful where he was and expressed deep sorrow at his death. They hated Oswald as an out of control extremist.
So, did LBJ back in 1960, sacrifice his powerful position as Senate majority leader for the powerless post of VP, just so he could hope that “someday that Kennedy boy’s gonna get shot and then I’ll just step right into the Presidency!!”?
Or even more fantastically, LBJ engineers Kennedy’s assassination, with the certainty of never getting caught?
Kinda doubt it. I’m a fan of Occam’s Razor.
I remember Jack Anderson on Art Bell promoting a career biography, which included the JFK assassination circus.
FWIW, Anderson said that the Castro brothers were tired of the Kennedy brothers trying to kill them, so Fidel baited the Mob to do it by “promising” to return seized casinos to Mob-operated status.
