The White House issued a rare statement on April 10 accusing the taxpayer-funded Voice of America radio station network of promoting propaganda from the Chinese Communist Party about the spread of the CCP virus.
“Secrecy from the Communist Party of China allowed the deadly virus to spread across the world,” the White House said in a statement. “Journalists should report the facts, but VOA has instead amplified Beijing’s propaganda.”
The White House cited two examples of VOA allegedly amplifying propaganda from Beijing about the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) virus, commonly known as the novel coronavirus.
The first example pointed to a video VOA posted on Twitter on April 7 showing a light show in Wuhan, China, marking the alleged end of the city’s 76-day lockdown. The link in the tweet leads to an Associated Press article about the light show. The video clip includes an Associated Press credit. VOA was not the only outlet to share the video.
The second example pointed to an infographic created by VOA comparing the number of COVID-19 deaths in the United States to the alleged number of COVID-19 deaths in China.
“As intelligence experts point out, there is simply no way to verify the accuracy of China’s numbers,” the White House statement said.

If I were Trump and it is within his power I would defund NPR in a heartbeat.
They are nothing more than liberal liars broadcasting on our dollars. I would shut them down and auction off their buildings and equipment.

Ok, so defund it as it is no longer doing its intended mission— along with PBS, NPR, the Legal Services Corporation and a wealth of other federal agencies. Why not just reduce all federal agencies by 30 percent immediately, then 10 percent per year until the budget is balanced. Have any federal jobs been lost as a result of the corona virus? Federal agencies should be cut back to what they were in George Washington’s Presidency.
No, not simply “defund” NPR. Shut it down and sell it and return all profits to the US treasury. Taxpayers made NPR. We taxpayers should benefit from our investment.

Anyone heard of any “government” employees being laid off or fired with no promise of being paid for their time off? I believe that Amanda Bennett is still head of VOA. WIKI: Bennet was a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, investigative journalist and editor and was named Director of the Voice of America in March 2016. Through 2013, she was Executive Editor, Bloomberg News, where she created and ran a global team of investigative reporters and editors. She was also co-founder of Bloomberg News’ Women’s project.

The “local” employees know very little... They don’t even understand the VOA mission, and are generally poorly educated hard-leftists, with very few exceptions.

Everytime an American looked at an item for where it was made, in it came from this country (China). Now China’s reliance making everything was being threatened by a change in leadership in America which was a major consumer of those products. When Americans hailed their leaders decision to make many of them in their country US. Their politburo worried.
Worse yet opponents to the Chinese regime in power had its citizens protesting its policies since that change in American leadership wave the American flag and present his name when doing so. All of which presented those in power the need to destroy that leader,
Would a runaway plague created by a nation which could threaten populations of an enemy cause them to react by demanding extreme restriction of movement by its population to prevent its spread ? Thus wind up fragmenting its economy.
The way this whole thing developed starting with the Italian fashion industry areas controlled by the Chinese commies hit by a runaway CoVid19. Sure looks suspicious particularly when crews of US naval vessels somehow wind up being infected by it before Italy.
To stop the return of manufacturing of products back to the US that went to China. China backers here who will be hit hard are also claiming that Trump’s alleged stock ownership in a quinine pills maker falsely claim its a controlling interest in a product to be totally ineffective and when used requires a severe restriction of movement when near a possible carrier known as a shutdown because of its rapid transmission .
