A video showing African children chanting racist slogans in Chinese sparked a wave of anger on social media when it was posted in mid-February. The FRANCE 24 Observers team investigated this video as well as the wider Chinese market for videos of African children.
On 16 February, the Ghanaian YouTuber Wode Maya posted a video that one of his followers had sent him. The first few seconds of the video show a group of 18 children wearing red outfits decorated with what appear to be white dragons. In the middle of the group, there is a blackboard with a phrase written in Chinese that children start chanting, repeating after the person who is filming the video: Im a black monster. I have a very low IQ! Then, they all start dancing.
Wode Maya, whose real name is Berthold Ackon, spent several years in China studying aeronautical engineering. He first saw the racist video on 10 February and decided to speak out about it on his YouTube channel. In his own video, he says that African governments should take action to stop this kind of exploitative practice. His video has garnered more than 100,000 views.
Lots of Chinese people come to Africa to film this kind of video and then sell them on Taobao [Chinas version of Amazon]. These people are exploiting our culture. The person who made this video is exploiting African children by putting them on YouTube and Chinese social media. The children dont understand what they are saying. This kind of video destroys trust between China and Africa. Its scandalous.
This video was widely criticised on social media

There’s actually a YouTube channel where a couple of guys of Chinese descent translate pictures of those tattoos. Pretty funny. Their biggest gripe is that most of those tattoos are upside down.
Probably the best thing that could happen to Africa.
Save it for tomorrow.
I’ll still be on FR :)
I wonder how the UN will handle this. As I see it, there are three possibilities:
1. The UN will denounce China.
2. The UN will ignore the issue completely.
3. The UN will help China explain it all way.
Im betting on #2. But #3 is not out of the question.
lol
I remember being stationed in another Asian Nation back in the nineteen sixties, and realizing just how much prejudice towards blacks existed there.
It seems a common trait in the East.
How to win friends and influence people!
god one!
This guy has the name of a Hong Kong politician tattooed on his arm. That's the most random tattoo I've ever seen.
Says a lot about Chinese culture & attitudes that there would even be a market for degrading & humiliating stuff like this
Are they really so insecure they need to put others down this way?
That can’t be. Only white,Christian Americans can be racist.
Will the NBA have these kids play at halftime of a Finals game? (snark)
In this country Rap music kind of does the same thing, IMO.
Its disgusting....both.
Africa has much to owe the Red Chinese: this and the nasty virus it gave to the world.
“Pretty soon China is going to own more of Africa than Africa does.”
Whether it’s American universities or African politicians, all you’ll hear is how terrible Westerners were for colonizing places like Rhodesia and South Africa (once the most prosperous countries in sub-Saharan Africa, now at or heading to sh*th*le status as Zimbabwe or ANC South Africa). Meanwhile, as this guy points out starting at 5:35 on his clip, the Chinese are for all intents and purposes colonizing places like Zambia, and you don’t hear a peep out the usual suspects in the woke lobby.
Tedros Adhanom will jump in and blame it on Taiwan people. He says the Taiwanese people are running a racist campaign against him.
It’s a not big secret that the Chinese are as racist as they come.... particularly with black people. And it’s not uncommon that amongst themselves at least, they often refer to black people as black devils. Here’s an observation that can be easily made... of all the mixed marriages that you know that involve someone who was born Chinese (as opposed to the broader category of Asian), how may are ones where the Chinese spouse is paired with a white person? Now... how many are ones where the Chinese spouse is paired with a black person? How do the stats for that compare to the general population stats for white and black people?
Being Good Friday and All hardly ever is there a mention of the Christian and missionary programs that bring not only Gods Word to African nations but many health and material benefits. Chi-coms godless exploits show what shameful sneaky tasbards they are and not to be trusted.
