WASHINGTON, April 9 (Reuters) - White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow on Thursday said the U.S. economy should be able to reopen "on a rolling basis" over the next month or two.

"The next month or two, we should be able to restart at least on a rolling basis," Kudlow said in an interview on Fox Business News. "Our intent here was, is to try to relieve people of the enormous difficult hardships they are suffering through no fault of their own."

How about THIS MONTH considering the "models" were purposefully fake and inaccurate.

Anyone who bought into the premise of this shutdown (and Trump is one of them) has no logical exit from the shutdown. Once you agree it is all about saving lives, at any cost, you cannot then decide its ok if a few people die. Whether Trump “causes” the death of 160,000 or just 1 it will prove Trump placed money over lives.

This virus is going to kill people until it burns itself out due to mass immunity. Flattening the curve just makes it broader and longer line.

People dying from Corona, or dying in combination of Corona and a fatal disease, or dying because Corona is in the air so all deaths are Corona, will trump the theoretical deaths from a failed economy and the destruction of our liberties. For the Prog the failed economy and tyranny is a feature of Corona.

Having agreed to Prog’s premise the debate is lost.

Current “policies” (i.e., decrees) seem to be lacking any sense of proportionality in either a geographical context or with respect to consideration of a long history of disease outbreaks and other kinds of recurring death metrics in this country.

We now have an outbreak of economic illness with its own set of potentially disasterous consequences.

I think blue states and red states with rhino governors will take their time. I think they’ve become drunk on their new power.

Fauci need so confront a big group of angry Americans holding protest signs aimed at him. He needs to sh** a few bricks and think about what he’s done to people’s lives. We can’t let him just slink back into his cubicle with no accountability.

Red states with good governors will reopen.
The others will look at their skyrocketing tax revenues
and won’t be able to stop themselves from doing same.

Never a fan personally of Kudlow, but I think his advice is spot in. I hope Trump ignores Fauci and follows Kudlow’s advice. You guys in America will start working again, while our idiots in Canada will continue to have us shut down.

That is pretty much the common facebook argument. I don’t know what they thought Trump should have done - closed off China in November? I don’t know. But he didn’t do enough and even 60,000 is too many.

“the global shutdown and widespread isolation is overdone,
county by county rules, based on #cases/100,000 would be better”

Within each county, there could be different levels of protections, rather than just an all or none approach.

Masks, sanitizer/hand washing, back to the 10 or less rule, etc. Allow all businesses to open, except a few specified to remain closed, etc.

How about opening up one state every hour, starting today, on a “rolling basis.”

Opening things on a rolling basis sounds like a disaster in the making. Open the whole thing up or will will end up shutdown again.
