Birx, who was appointed by former President Barack Obama to serve as United States Global AIDS Coordinator in 2014, graduated from the Pennsylvania State University medical school in 1980. She was issued a medical license in Pennsylvania in 1987.
That license expired on December 31, 2014, and it has not been renewed since then, according to the Pennsylvania Licensing System Verification Service, courtesy of the Pennsylvania Department of State.
Birx, who is listed as residing in Potomac, Maryland, does not appear in Maryland practitioner records.
Birx is garnering criticism for touting a disputed model for the Coronavirus outbreak prepared by the University of Washington’s IHME, a project of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Birx serves on the board of the Global Fund, which has received more than $2 billion in funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Licenses are for peasants. The overlords don’t need licenses.
Kind of irrelevant as she is not actually treating patients.
Oh, no! This is it! This will take Trump down for sure, now!
So...what? She’s not engaged in practicing medicine anymore, she’s engaged in setting policy regarding medicine - something for which she is well qualified. I’d hope we did not drag a practicing doctor away from his patients to make public utterances in daily press briefings for the likes of CNN.
She doesn’t see patients, so why would she have one? LOL
If this model is off as others have stated, I wonder how she will be responding.
Birx: Americans Should Avoid Grocery Shopping for 2 Weeks
Yes. Get the pitch forks.
She is a public health official. She does not practice medicine any more since she left HHS.
I just sent this note to President Trump.
Dear Mr. President, Its time to eliminate the fear mongering and hysterics of Fauci and Birx. Retire them and replace with senior, experienced military doctors who understand the real world. Respectfully, Mark Davis
Why does she need a license to advise the President? Unless she’s treating him I see this as a non-issue. If it had been revoked for cause maybe I’d worry about it but lapsed? That means she didn’t want to pay malpractice insurance.
Letting her license expire merely proves that she doesn’t want to pay money for a license she’s not actually using.
And Lucy Van Pelt isn’t a licensed therapist.
“If she doesn’t treat patients, why is she and Fauci trashing Chloroquine, which has been used by plenty of doctors who actually treat patients for coronavirus and has proved very effective?”
THIS is why her license being expired is a relevant fact.
How many corona patients has she doctored?
a lot of MDs don’t practice medicine: they serve as policy wonks, administrators, business execs, professors, etc.
I don’t believe Dr. Fauci has EVER treated patients.
