... Disneyland passholders are outraged that Disney continues to charge its most die-hard fans who use the annual pass monthly payment plan and wont defer payments while the Anaheim theme parks remain closed until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Annual passports, which offer year-round access to the parks on select days, range in price from the $419 for the Select annual pass with the most block out days to the $1,449 Signature Plus pass that provides unlimited access to Disneys Anaheim theme parks. Disneyland raised prices on its annual passes in February to $649 for the Flex pass, $829 for the Deluxe pass and $1,199 for the Signature pass.
Disneyland will extend the expiration dates for passholders who have annual passes that are valid during the continuing coronavirus closure.
Passholders on the monthly payment plan will continue to make their scheduled payments and will not be required to make any payments during the extended period.
The fine print in the annual pass contract clearly states Disneyland is not liable for park closures.
Passholder Michael Muscarella has asked Disneyland customer service if he could stop paying his $416 monthly payment for his familys Signature annual passes rather than extending the expiration date on the passes. The answer: Not at this time.
Right now every dollar counts, said Muscarella, 47, of Ladera Ranch via email. I should not have to pay for something I am not currently able to use.
Disneyland charged Muscarellas credit card on Wednesday, April 1 for his $416 annual pass monthly payment.
Muscarella wants Disneyland to stop all annual pass monthly payments while the parks are closed. Hes not alone. The phones are ringing off the hook at Disneyland customer service.

The Downtown Disney District entrance to the Disneyland Monorail is locked after the entire Disneyland Resort was being shutdown due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
What about Ski Resort Season Pass holders?
I bet buried depp in all of the legalese for the passes Disneyland is allowed to do this.
Even “Fruit Land”? :)

No company is better at picking your pocket than the House of Mouse.
Sneezy is a vector.
This might be somewhere down around #8 million on my list of things I give a sh!t about in a time of crisis.
these people have messed up priorities...
Don’t they know?
The Mouse has right to that money, it belongs to the Mouse.
They merely get the privilege of working for it so they can give it to the Mouse.

I’d imagine folks are upset about it, but why must the media
use terms like outrage in instances like this?
They do the same thing to Trump all the time. He addresses
a problem, and they use words like furious, angrily, yelled,
when they aren’t accurate at all.
Of course they accuse him of racism too.
I guess that will be next when it comes to Disney’s
temporary issue.
I’m sure Disney will make it right somehow.
I’ve been trying to cancel my gym membership since January after I broke my ankle and couldn’t use the facilities ($85/month). Never got a call back. Never got a reply to my email. Money kept coming out of my checking account. When Gov. Wolf declared a stay-at-home order, I called my bank and had them cancel the automatic deduction. Sleazy tactics.
Well yeah. I’m still getting billed for my gym too. That’s how memberships work in this wild world.

Hmmm, maybe they should have read the terms, rather than bitch now.
Never let any outfit PULL money from your account(s).
Smart answer —> Push it from your account so you are 100% in control.
The only pull I even consider is pulling from a credit card.
Sounds like you need to close an account.

Oh, you’d care about it if you bank account was getting dinged $500 or more a month. That’s pretty typical for a family on this plan.
I have but two automatic payments.
It was extremely tough to avoid them. I just set them up to come from a dedicated checking account just devoted to them. Keep a very low balance.
Its all buried in automation. Disney has no easy way to “pause” anything. Ive worked in IT for decades and many companies are just built with such a dependence on automated workflows and complex databases they can’t adjust to something out of the norm.
Its kind of like when you’re drive through bill is $4.19 and you hand the cashier a $5 dollar bill, (he/she rings it up and the system tells them what the change is), but then at the last second you hand them a quarter and the cashier goes blank, panics, and doesn’t know what to do.
The main complaint is the cash withdrawal but... they bought a 12 month pass on a monthly installment plan.
The pass will be extended by whatever time the park was closed so theyre still getting a full 12 month pass
Im sympathetic that cash is king but like the students that took out college loans - you signed the contract!
