Open up on Easter and SUGGEST that the elderly and sick quarantine another month.

At first glance I thought the highway sign said “#FLATULENCE”
These massive stay at home orders likely are slowing down the rate of spread of the virus, but at a price of huge economic impact. But more importantly the flu/coronavirus season will end with a much smaller percentage of the public having developed antibodies to fight it off next year. One of the reasons why they have to change the flu virus vaccination formula every year is that the types that went around the year before are no longer a threat to the public because so many people have been exposed that they die out before they can infect a lot of people.
I was poking fun at people yesterday who were afraid of the “second wave” next year. But because of the effect of “social distancing” this is an actual threat unless a vaccine is developed over the summer.
I expect people to start shooting in another two weeks or so.
My best take on this is similar to chemo. They bombard you with radiation till you are barely alive to kill the cancer. If it works, great you are alive but you sure as hell ain’t roaring back to doing what you did anytime soon.
Same with this “cure”. By the time they are through, we may be “alive”, but most of us will be so broke and tired that we will limp along for months or years to recover.
Can’t wait to hear what Rush has to say tomorrow in light of this afternoon’s press conference.
We need to deal with this virus the exact same way we dealt with the Influenza virus of 2017-18 which was from Oct. 2017 thru May 2018 that resulted in 48.8 million reported cases, 959,134 hospitalizations and 79,416 deaths.........

It is important to align the interests of the ruling class with the interests of the ruled. Nonessential government employees should be furloughed without pay. Schools that are teaching remotely can keep paying teachers, but in jurisdictions where that is not happening, teachers should not get paid. Members of Congress should close all district offices and reduce their Washington staff to a skeleton crew of two or three. Laid off congressional staff should not be paid. Members' pay should be reduced proportionately to the reduction in median personal income among taxpayers.
Then we can begin to talk reasonably about how long a lockdown of the economy can continue.
The most dangerous thing about a process like spreading a virus that follow a power law function is that you don’t really think it is a problem until the last few doublings. The number of fatalities in the next few weeks will shock many people who do not understand this reality.
The only weapon we have prior to a cure or vaccine to prevent this global pandemic following its natural course is to put enough distance between hosts that it runs out of fuel. Its like a brush fire, we need to create a defensible space around our bodies to starve the virus of new replicators. Until we get the brush fire under control we can’t go back to our normal economic activities.
It’s important to understand a full recovery from this is going to take quite a while.
This crap has got to stop, and soon. It's no longer a case of mass hysteria, but a case of mass paranoia.
