The Cure Is Now Officially More Dangerous than the Disease.
Thank you WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, NIAID Director Dr. Anthony Fauci and globalist elites everywhere!
During the Great Depression the highest rate of US unemployment was 24.9% in 1933.
The St. Louis Fed projected on Monday the US unemployment rate during the coronavirus panic could reach 32% unemployment higher than the Great Depression!
The St. Louis Fed estimated that 42 million Americans could lose their jobs.
A man-made depression is coming.
And it was all caused by faulty data!
I haven’t heard POTUS say anything about the timing of this ‘hoax’ “pandemic”.
Have you?
You make it sound as though whoever set forth this ‘hoax’ is controlling POTUS and causing him to walk on eggshells.
That is NOT his style. I don’t believe he’s being controlled, in such a manner, as you’re suggesting.
I saw a news blip, that Macy’s is furloughing all of their employees.
"It's dead, Jim."
What the...? Lmao!
When FDR became President, government workers were an inconsequential factor and most of his proposals to get the nation out of Depression were essentially creating work via government programs. Fearful that this pattern will emerge again such that the private sector is completely decimated.
No. Both my parents lived through the REAL Depression, which lasted over ten years. This isn't even a hiccup by comparison. Learn some actual history.
Businesses, many of them, have expenses they have to meet whether they open or not. Taxes, debt payments, minimum upkeep for their properties, pensions, etc. In many cases they need cashflow to meet these obligations month-to-month. A month off will leave them desperate and many will not be able to reopen. Two months off and that number of permanently shuttered businesses will rise exponentially.
I think you will start to see furloughs of government workers fairly soon at the local, county and state level.
Oh noes! We all gonna starve.
We already had the Obama Depression - when well over 25% of People who wanted to work were “unemployed” (not just ‘on unemployment’, a statistic for which they are no longer counted for after their ~99 weeks are up).
Yes, Fauci essentially forced Trump’s hand and left with no choice but to extend until the end of April. Fauci claiming the deaths will be between 100,000 to 200,000 was pure speculation and fear mongering.
Other good news, and I could be wrong, but America is the only country that has a suggested return to work date. Here in Canada everything is closed until we hear otherwise, and I’m not aware of any other nation setting dates.
FWIW, I picked up a small grocer here in Canada on Friday. That’s all I’m going to add for now in case this is just a dead cat bounce. Was eyeing some oil and natural gas stocks, but think far to soon for them.
Deep State won again.
HA!
There are lots of Freepers complaining about how tough everyone else has it, but won't admit they didn't follow the Dave Ramsey advice to have enough cash on hand, an "emergency fund" to last six months.
On top of that they resent being told by 'the gubmint' they have to stay indoors. The horror!
So they conclude the whole thing is 'a hoax', or that 'the cure is worse than the disease', etc. Always blaming others, such as blaming 'old people' as with the last argument here at FR I got into, and most of them implying Trump is to blame too, but not saying it out loud.
Personally I think Trump AND HIS TEAM are doing the best job possible under the circumstances.
And I'm about to start reading a highly rated book, "The Forgotten Man" about the Great Depression, written by a woman who calls herself a "classical liberal" -- a term that fits most of the sensible among us here at FR. I saw her interview on C-SPAN Booknotes yesterday, it's mostly about personal accounts from the Great Depression.
We haven’t had anything near a Depression in eons — you cheapen the term.
Real reason — Trump’s fault. /s
That’s because you have no confidence in the best experts in the nation.
I can guess the real reasons, but what’s the point?
So go out and lick some toilets, and get back to me.
No so called experts worldwide are covering their butts by over stating the numbers. We were told 1 million deaths in the USA a month ago, and that “expert” has now down graded that number to 100,000. So forgive me if I take these speculations with a grain of salt.
