Doctors in Italy have finally began widely prescribing hydroxychloroquine in certain combinations in Rome and the wider region of Lazio with a population of around six million.
According to Corriere della Sera, a well known Italian daily newspaper, Dr. Pier Luigi Bartoletti, Deputy National Secretary of the Italian Federation of General Practitioners, explains that every single person with Covid-19 that has early signs, like a cough or a fever for example, is now being treated with the anti-malaria drug.
The drug is already giving good results, Bartoletti says while Malaysia reveals they have been using it since the very beginning. Bartoletti further adds that the drug:
Must be used with all the necessary precautions, it must be evaluated patient by patient. It can have side effects. But those that take it are responding really well.

[[It can have side effects.]]
Exactly- There are side effects to the lungs filling up with liquid and quitting too- I’ll take my chances with the medicine-
When will we have the courage to do the same?
Or should we start chewing on a piece of Pachymama?
Good news for Italy I hope but silence for US.
“O, my gosh. Can you imagine the conniption the Trump-haters will throw if we start referring to him as Dr. Trump? “
I love it!
Dr. Trump was right, and the dems got it all wrong!
Italy’s case mortality rate according to worldometers is 11%
10779 deaths / 97689 known cases.
Saw a post earlier today that said they were now denying ventilators to anyone over 60 years old. It was 65 years last week.
This is what happens when your health system gets overrun.
Trustnodes? Can we get a more reputable source for this? Thanks.
Good news for Italy I hope, but silence for the US.
1. The death toll in italy is 10k. Tragic, yes, but that’s far from everyone
2. The death toll is primarily in the north of the country
Those side effects can put you in a body bag if not evaluated
Id still take my risk with the drugs, death by suffocation seems like a worse outcome than side effects from these drugs
Fair enough but some basic caution should be followed. The drug is helpful and we will find out how helpful but not magic. People still die on it. Cardiac patients in particular need to be very careful with it
It’s being used here in the U.S. Pharmacies claim to be running out, so it’s being prescribed. And companies are now producing HCQ in greater volume.
One interesting comment in the article was that the doctor doesn’t think the current trial is useful because it’s not used until the patient is on a ventilator and near death, i.e., as an absolute last resort. But it appears to work best as a first-line drug where it prevents progression of the disease to serious lung impairment. That’s exactly how Dr. Zelenko has been using it.
This could be the way to get back to normal life again, and get the economy back humming. Let the disease progress through the population and immediately treat those who come down with symptoms. That could be tried in a few areas for a week or so and if the treated patients nearly all recover, and when a sufficient supply of the medications are on hand, end the isolation period for everyone. We’d quickly develop full herd immunity, keep hospitalizations minimized, and stop strangling the economy all in one move.
That’s why my Mom is terrified to leave the house, she is 70 and has arrhythmia and high blood pressure..zpack is a great drug but it CAN cause a heart arrhythmia and in her case the odds of getting a reaction is high
NeverTrumpers and partisan media shills hardest hit!
Yes, worth reading the whole thing. One troubling takeaway, assuming the person quoted is correct, is that the big upcoming European clinical trial seems to be slanted against HCQ.
For one thing, they’re not including azithromycin. And they’re not administering HCQ until the patient has very low oxygen levels. That is, when they’re pretty far into the progression and their lungs are starting to fail. HCQ is only effective when given shortly after first symptoms start to appear.
What an irresponsible article. It might cause some mental defective to eat aquarium cleaner. /s
And hydroxychloroquine can cause the same arrhythmia. The two drugs together are additive. My prayers are with your mom and I hope she can find relief from the fear. She should not take either medicine unless closely supervised by a knowledgeable physician. My fear is people will get these drugs over the internet and take then without appropriate screening and supervision and cause needless harm
Take your vitamins and your Trump pill.
Who said it is only effective with the first symptoms? We have been giving it to ICU patients with some good results although .that is anecdotal and studied need to be done about the best time to start it
