An alarming report from the Jerusalem Post describes how doctors in Corona-torn Italy have been instructed not to offer access to ventilators to patients over 60 as these machines are in short supply.

Ehi, nonno. Hai combattuto contro Mussolini, grazie. Dato che hai 85 anni e una pensione, vaffanculo! Nessun ventilatore per te, ma grazie, comunque!
Good, I don’t want one. Some others might, though.
Degenerates. Age has nothing to do with triage in this situation. A heart transplant in the late 80s, ok I get it. The physical recovery is too hard to get success.
But a ventilator is different.
They are making a value judgement of who lives and dies based solely upon age. A 40 year old deadbeat who walked out on his family, lives on handouts, and doesn’t hold a job is more valuable than a 60 or 70 year old patriarch of a family, maybe owns a business, maybe employs 60 or 70 people.
Bullshit.
What about the Ferrari and Lamborghini factories
Re-purposing auto factories seemed to work here.
Vents are not rocket science type of gadgets
How about offering access to Hydroxychloroquine to patients over 60?
Are they afraid it might work?
No billion dollar solution needed?

They seem to have a lack of the ingenuity and go=get it attitude we have here in the US. I have seen several articles detailing how clever doctors have rigged ventilators to treat more than one person at a time. It seems when the going get tough, the tough Americans get going!!
How warm.
We all remember how they behaved during WWII...or do we?
Ummm you would be better off with Fiat and Alfa Romero. You know, automobile manufacturers with multiple and larger factories...
Death panels.
I think that they got hit all at once because all the Chinese returning from vacations home to China for the NY constitution a large number of virus recruitment sources. The Italians don’t seem to have had time to take stock and recruit help from their manufacturers. I doubt they have the extra personnel to run the vents either. It takes all the running they can do to stay in place.
That time is what POTUS bought the USA by closing off travel from China & Europe & by his 15 day social distancing request, the time to get ready & set up supply lines. The Italian mayor in the region used any time Northern Italy had to start a “hug a Chinese person” campaign..
auto correct alert constitute not constitution.
This, or a similar article has been posted at least three times before. Maybe some find it hard to believe that Italy would have such a policy. They do. Many countries are likely to have the same policy, but don’t come right out and say it yet.
Rationing health care, even out of necessity, is heartbreaking. Socializing health care will make it a matter of policy.
Just in the past few days, the media have been accusing TRUMP of relishing the idea of doing what the doctors are already starting to do.
Italy needs to find its inner Fascism but sold its soul to Fascist E.U.
That might be why this mortality rate is so high.
With Doctors and hospitals in the U.S. starting to voice these same ideas, it's no wonder they want the U.S. disarmed. Nothing more scary than armed very P.O.'d relatives of a 60 year old a Dr with a God complex decides their life is worth less than a 40 yr old meth junkie or illegal.
In the words of Hal Moore, this could get sporty.
And we all remember their behavior on the Andrea Doria, don’t we?
