NEW ORLEANS The Louisiana death toll from the coronavirus pandemic rose Sunday but the rate of infection appeared to have slowed dramatically, according to figures released by the Louisiana Department of Health.
The state had a total of 3,540 confirmed cases as of noon CDT Sunday, compared to 3,315 on March 28.
That increase of 225 cases, or less than 7%, marks a dramatic flattening of the curve Louisiana had experienced last week, when the percentage rise was as high as 28% on some days.

so soon? Impossible to use that data
Disgusting, unChristian post. Equally disgusting is to write this off as just the flu, Bro.
“Louisiana is a state where warm weather and sunshine should be taking hold as spring arrives.
The good folks of Louisiana need to get outside, get fresh air, and sunshine.
These are very, very powerful antidotes to any virus.”
Way too much doomsday fear mongering on TV news, depressing, had to get away.
Stepped outside this morning to get some fresh air the Sun is shining bright. Birds are singing, a woodpecker is busy pecking wood, a mockingbird is building a nest in the honeysuckle thicket on my fence. My neighbors roosters are crowing. Butterflies are flying about, bumble bees are buzzing around. The trees are beautifully green again with new Spring growth and flowers are blooming.
Life goes on
Tell it to the 3.2 million unemployed. And go make a house note for your neighbor who just lost his job.
“Italy has been flat for four days and had a significant drop in new today”
Good news. Hope you do have time to do one of your statistical updates soon. Thanks.
We just went to our small town grocery store. There are currently no cases in our county. At the store we saw a bunch of homosexual/trans males shopping. They are definitely not from here. They really look like escapees from New Orleans or a circus.
If: (hypothetically)
the declared cases day 01 are up 20,000
the declared cases day 02 are up 18,000
the declared cases day 03 are up 14,000
the declared cases day 04 are up 11,000
You have four days with the rate of growth declining...
This is what I have seen over the last four days.
I hope it continues.
Recoveries are starting to explode upward, and in a couple
of weeks we’ll have upwards of 50,000 recoveries per day
(globally). 10,000 or so in the U. S.
I have been using Johns Hopkins University, but WorldoMeters
will show the same thing.
Thanks for confirming that. I use the JHU data, but they
both should show basically the same thing.
I will...
How do you know?
Haven't we been hunkering down now for about 14 days? It's time to see some results.
Ok it loosing speed as it reaches the top. That would be good
did they stop boofing in the streets?
when? it wasn’t till after st patricks day.
It doesn’t matter what you say or the rest of the gloom and doomers say. It will be what it will be and what it will be is mostly a media generated hysteria.
There are almost 35,000,000 cases of the common flu this year with close to 30,000 deaths but all we hear is hysteria about 2000 deaths from Chinese virus with 97% of them being already sick folks in their 80’s.
You gotta be pretty f’d up to shut down the world economy over sh*t like this.
exactly right ....
YEP government at their finest again demanding everyone has a right to own a home holding banks hostage if they did not give loans to EVERYONE!! Barney Frank and his tribe ruling the roost!! THEN after their demands to the banks after the whole damn thing collapses these tyrants have the absolute audacity to put strangling regulations on all financial institutions!! I drives me absolutely crazy to think that anyone on this site believes a damn word coming from media, UN, WHO, then entire damn government, the ONLY person I believe is Trump and he was PUSHED into this hype with absolute false models and statistics these bastards had him convinced 2 million Americans would die!!!
Days to double from March 20 - 24: 2.51, 2.42, 2.92, 3.11, 3.28. At least it is a good trend. If we are testing enough people.
Probably from NY!!!
Agreed... that’s the hope.
Testing is key... to be sure.
Thanks for your angle on it. Seems good.
