The Dutch government has ordered a recall of around 600,000 masks out of a shipment of 1.3 million from China after they failed to meet quality standards.
The defective masks had already been distributed to several hospitals currently battling the COVID-19 outbreak, news agency AFP and Dutch media reported. The Dutch Health Ministry has kept the rest of the shipment on hold.
An inspection revealed that the FFP2 masks did not protect the face properly or had defective filter membranes. The fine filters stop the virus from entering the mouth or nose. The masks failed more than one inspection.
"A second test also revealed that the masks did not meet the quality norms. Now it has been decided not to use any of this shipment," said the health ministry said in a statement to news agency AFP.
China is sending millions of masks and medical supplies to countries across the world to combat the COVID-19 outbreak. Countries that are receiving China's supplies include Serbia, Liberia, France, Philippines, Czech Republic.

I hope Trump learns of this, and soon pushes for serious inspections of ALL Chinese products. Heck, ALL foreign products.
And, require of foreign producers that they provide (verifiably) American standards of traceable product quality, worker health& safety and defective product liability (sic lawyers on them and their costs will skyrocket).
Red China is an international criminal conspiracy. The entire nation needs to be quarantined.
Chinese slaves making defective crap? When i worked in retail, we would get pallets of grills from Guangdong China. Many times the assembler would take them out of the box to do his work and the “stainless” panels would be all rusted.
Don’t know how it was all resolved.
At least four major incidents now of Chinese supplies being defective.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they laced it with more virus IMO, nobody should be accepting any shipment of anything from China at this point.
BTTT!
Cheap labor, cheap imports ... you get what you pay for. You get what you $^&$ing deserve.
Cheap labor, cheap imports ... you get what you pay for.
Who won?
They also got our industries, jobs, etc ... We all got their virus. Too soon to tell who won. Probably nobody.

Well your coronavirus is working. Thanks a lot.
Did China send them toxic toys in exchange or dog food to depopulate their canine population?
its ok, china can make their own poison milk to kill babies instead
Toasters made in China don’t work but people are believing medical technology and equipment will? How stupid do you have to be, I wonder?
Government thugs push factories in China... The Chinese killed out dogs with poisoned dog food... made our home sick with their toxic drywall... Go to Amazon and read the first questions... there's always one that asks, 'where is this made'. Why? Because China puts out crap...
Why is the Netherlands, a nation of 17MM, getting the equivalent of 76 masks per citizen?
No country should do business with China ever again.
WE ALL are ‘guilty’ for allowing it to happen but whoever sold us out to ANY country for vital supplies should be dealt with.
Apparently ‘WE’ have learned nothing from the past.
We became overly dependent on foreign oil, now when you farm out 90%+- of your ‘life saving’ drug manufacturing ANYWHERE out of the country we all are at risk.
How long would it take us to maintain the WWII ‘can do’ attitude when we have to buy vital products from others?
I got ‘upset’ years ago when foreign companies were buying up our Supermarket chains, no telling when someone may ‘turn on you’ and you sure don’t want them in charge of your groceries etc...(Fortunately even though HQ may be elsewhere day to day is still here BUT who is controlling the ‘purse strings’?)
Whooped...I thought I saw billion, not million. Sorry for my MSNBC math error.
China has a wide range of quality.
There are Chinese products that are lousy.
But also ones that are quite good.
I’ve seen Chinese auto parts that are shockingly bad.
But also ones that are world class.
It depends on who is running the factory.
As for these medical products, I have no idea.
