What will this be in 3 weeks if the disease continues? Shooting people down by drones if they go outside after curfew or without a valid reason? You’re from Manhattan, mandatory quarantine? Food dropped by parachute into urban areas? Police going into private homes and shooting old men with TV remotes, after shooting the dog, of course?
“Enforceable” means they use deadly force if you don’t comply. Otherwise don’t say “enforceable.”
Most people are willing to trade their freedom for a promise of protection from the government. If they do, they soon have no safety, and no freedom.
Might need to hit the liquor store though!
I got some groceries, some peanut butter,
To last a couple of days
But I ain’t got no speakers, ain’t got no headphones,
Ain’t got no records to play
Well I got LOTS of records to play, fortunately. Including pretty much everything the Talking Heads ever recorded.
I better pack the vehicle and gas it up. The “shut down” here in NJ is bad enough. A “quarantine” I am not sure I want to live with. I have relatives in Texas. Might go there for awhile. I guess I will need to take the back roads out, if I don’t move before the “quarantine” is announced.
We live on a great Class A trout stream. Yesterday, a family from Chicago was down there. They are staying at an Air B&B (supposed to be closed) and wondering where they can go out to eat besides Mickey D’s. They are here because of the recreational area closings in Chicago.
Hopefully, they will become stir crazy and tired of no restaurants and go home. DH kept his distance. We had thunderstorms overnight, it is wet and chilly out with more rain forecast.
Yes, it’s draconian, but you can trace the cases out here in the rural areas by following the highways from the large cities. If people won’t use some compassionate common sense, then they’ll invite enforceable cordon sanitaires.
He tweeted it out. Good lord. If I cant tell what a man is thinking by his tweets-he should stop tweeting. Try and keep up.
Desantis is doing a nothing .
Airports have no such thing .
It was a lie to Press to push off action.
This Gov is rein acting the band leader on the Titanic .
NYC still is the best city on the planet.
Just not right now.
“Start spreadin’ the flus, we’ll be leaving today.....”
He mentioned it again in speech seeing the hospital ship off.
And make them pay for it.
‘Might need to hit the liquor store though!’
can’t do that in the People’s Republic of Pennsylvania...
Make NYC, CT and parts of Jersey a concentration camp (sic).
Rural GA and NC have already blocked off the roads and banned summer residents and weekenders and hotels and bnbs.
I’m in rural TN but the whole state has much less sickness than NYC and other places. We want it to stay that way. So far to date we have 1203 positives out of 16,091 tested. We have only 6 deaths and only 103 hospitalized. My county only has 3 positives and no deaths. Essential business are working and no forced “stay at home” orders, just suggestions. Schools of course are out. Most restaurants offer drive-thru or curb side service. Even our only liquor store is doing curb side instead of indoor sales. Hardware stores appear to still be open. We are in much better shape than most but most of rural TN is doing fine. Most cases are in the bigger cities like Nashville, Memphis, Knoxville and Chattanooga.
We are just staying home. I go through the pharmacy drive-thru when necessary and get groceries through grocery pickup. Most Tennesseans are doing fine. Since we are so rural this is not that bad because we stay prepared and are more or less always socially distanced, unlike those in NYC.
I worry about my grand-daughter. She’s a Physical Therapy Assistant and they are still working. She’s a germ-a-phobe so I’m sure she’s being as careful as she can be.
Not sure where you got that from but it isn’t so in practice, at least not where I am. We did a recon yesterday. A local town that claimed it would shut it’s roads had closed nothing, and everyone was walking around in the sun. I think they are trying to discourage the hordes of folks we get from the NY, NJ and DC area here every summer. Half the population here in coastal NC is from NY. They’ve done a lot of good things for our communities. A bit quarrelsome though.
