Officials are working out final details in plans to begin clinical trials next week for a malaria drug combination that appears to hold some promise for confronting the coronavirus pandemic.
New York state Health Department officials are making arrangements to determine what patients at which hospitals will be allowed to participate in trials with hydroxychloroquine, Zithromax and chloroquine, a senior official at the department with knowledge of the plan told ABC News. The bulk of the patients are expected to be in the New York City metro area because the region has the biggest cluster of cases.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced earlier this week that he was eager to get the trials started. By Tuesday, the drugs were in New York and officials were working to identify who could participate.

I have yet to hear of ANYONE dying of the virus after having taken this medicine.
If someone had died, you’d think it would be blasted constantly over the airwaves.
India has announced that this malaria medication is so important, and in such short supply, that no one except those who are in real need of it can have it.
I think that they are using the drugs already, without completion of the trial.
For some reason, it lists “deoxychloroquine” and “chloroquine”, which I have been assuming is the “phosphate” form. Maybe to compare efficacy?
Maybe too soon for an effective therapy. More bankruptcies, 401k->301k->201k... and more dead MAGA folks aged 50-100.
so those 17 ( whatever number) who died in Elmhurst a few days ago could have been saved. I thought they had the treatment.
Maybe they were too ill to sign the form to be in cuomo’s trial. Notice he said he was going to pick who was going to be in the trial. If one is not in the trial, they won’t get the fish bowl cleaning drug.

I wish they would have started the trials in several Red states.

By next week, the number of dead, sick, and critical in NY, will be four times greater than what the numbers are today. Time-is-of-the-essence!
You remember correctly they were supposed to start this week with some results by today. Now we have MAY start next week and Governors are banning Doctors from trying it. If Cuomo doesn’t join the others he will slow roll it, in fact he probably has since we do not have any results today. These bastards would rather let people die than have Trump be right about this. Especially after MSM got so invested in the “false hope” narrative.
Governors should not be able to ban a prescription. That is clearly the FDA’s jurisdiction.
