All democrats.
I’m sure it’s not tons....but a small office supply. And Doctors are afterall first responders....and they should have access to these drugs.
Don’t care.
They should protect themselves and their families so they can live to protect us...
You mean to tell me these health providers fell for the false hope being perpetuated by Trump? /s
I see a bright spot here in that it clearly shows that those on the applied science end of the medical spectrum have confidence that these drugs work, while the theoreticians want to fiddle for several months while everything burns.
Prosecute for what? Putting ppe on daily and wanting a med for your family if you bring something home that could kill them?
The course in one protocol is only 12 pills. Thats not hoarding. Now if they are buying 100s at a time thats different.
It is actually unethical. Its the reason doctors (used to) take an oath to treat the family of fellow physicians for free and train their offspring for free. In the good old days before the lawyers decided they should be the arbiters of what doctors can do.
They SHOULD be writing lots of prescriptions — for themselves, their families, their nurses, hospital disinfection staff, pulmonary specialists, EMTs, firemen, paramedics, hospital administration staff. These are the people on the front line and we need all of them to stay healthy and get well quick if they catch it.
Fakenews
The supply of hydroxychloroquine which has been in use for seventy years is to vast to be hoarded.
Do these people ever see the conflict between the statements “doctors are hoarding ... for themselves and their families” and “unproven”? IF it’s snake oil, why treat their kids with it?
Why wouldn’t they? Everyone has said this virus is a killer and it’s every man for himself.
A sick doctor is of no use to anyone. A doctor distracted by illness in his own family is less useful than one who is not. The question should be “are these doctors depriving others of treatment?” If the answer is “no”, then no harm, no foul.
It’s because this drug doesn’t work, and Trump is crazy! That’s why they are hoarding it for their families!
Really?
I’m a 64 yo ED physician working Urgent Care right now.
My “social distancing” consists of seeing 40+ people a day coughing and sneezing, many who won’t wear the few masks we have left we give them, all without the proper lever of PPE. I have a 62 yo immunocompromised wife with a cardiac condition.
What do you suppose the odds are that I will get this or bring it home to my wife?
I fully expect to get frantic calls in the next weeks begging me to come to the ER to help out.
Maybe I’ll just call it a career.
Why so surprised. Americans haven’t been able to get into med schools for years. Been to a doctor lately? Foreigners. American med schools have dreamer and diversity set asides. They only want liberals. This is what you get.
I’ll bet every Hollywood A Lister has their stash already.
Didn’t Barr have something to say about people hoarding stuff during this emergency? There’ll be knocks on doors.
Doctors don't hoard medicines, they give out samples provided by the pharmaceutical companies and write prescriptions which you take to your local pharmacy.
The article also cites one pharmacist who claimed he only had 800 pills in stock and got a prescription request from a doctor for 200 but refused it. Well of course he did, there is a 30 or 90 day limit on prescribed drugs and every doctor knows that..as does the pharmacist.
You don't prescribe drugs by numbers, you prescribe them in accordance to the govt guidelines in terms of a month or three months...........Again, this whole article is bullcrap!
chloroquine available in a lot of less developed countries without a prescription. Really cheap too. Maybe not anymore
The Washington and Hollywood elites are probably stockpiling hydroxychloroquine for themselves and their entire extended families.
