As companies run out of cash, pushing them toward insolvency, our countrys business-to-business trust is at risk of coming apart tearing and ultimately collapsing the delicate system that keeps industries as diverse as farming, chemicals, and aluminum profitable and solvent. The flip side of this is that I'm hoping the country's citizen-to-government trust disappears entirely as a result of this fiasco.

This won't end well.
Those of us who "prepped" were thinking along the lines of sudden collapse - at least we have a little time to tweak our efforts. And have a better time-frame.

We’re trying to save hundreds of thousands from possibly dying of disease, but may end up causing millions to starve to death after our entire economy collapses.

I wonder how people feel about the 2nd amendment now. The gun stores were cleaned out within a couple of day. Mostly by people who didn't own a firearm (people who were agnostic and anti-gunners).

Then we have anarchy. Careful what you wish for.

If my own government won't even allow me to conduct my own business lawfully, then as far as I'm concerned I already have anarchy -- because I'm sure as hell not going to listen to them.
The point here is that I live in an area where there is hardly any indication of government presence at all. I suspect "anarchy" wouldn't even be noticed here.

The stock market is falling toward 18,340...the closing on Election Day 2016. So the Democrats and their media army will have destroyed all the gains that President Trump has made in his term. Mission accomplished. Will their co-conspirators on Wall Street have Pelosi and Schumer write an extra TRILLON for them into the Democrat Rape the Comatose Emergency Bill?

If you want to see government presence, just wait till the roll-out the anti-anarchy forces!

“So long as this chain reaction continues...”
If you want to stop the chain reaction, you need to identify the key trigger that started it and reverse it. Re-open the schools.

From the article;
But Washington, and the White House in particular, are also at risk of falling into a bailout mentality, whacking symptoms as they appear and missing the cancer in the bloodstream. The lib Dems, ever eager to trade other people's money for votes, certainly are at such risk. Perhaps most fortunately for our nation, and this handwringing journalist author, we have an accomplished businessman in the White House.

A lot of the demoncratic governors and mayors, who have so recently become enamored with the national coverage of the sound of their voices, have not even considered the damage they are doing. So long as it sinks Trump, they are fine with it. They think they will just pick up the pieces later.
Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way.
To: Kaslin
Absolutely right. The engine that drives prosperity has been killed. Government does not create wealth. Government issues checks backed by nothing. The money supply increases, but it is backed by nothing.
The end result is universal poverty + inflation.
We are witnessing it right before our eyes.

No I don’t wish that, but what I do wish is that citizens realize that government can not fix all problems and that we, as citizens and private businesses, must pitch in to help fix problems. We are in it together and therefore an integral part of the equation, and that we learn to rely less on government to be our nanny.

Seriously?
Public indoctrination centers schools control the economy?
Wow.
Just wow.

Good point, but I think the real trigger was the large-scale cancellation of sports events. Thats something that NEVER happens in this country, and was probably the main reason why so many people and industries bought into the hysteria.

An excellent review... Makes one wonder what the final economic outcome might have been if the chicom virus had been treated as “just” another version of the flue and most of the draconian actions taken or proposed so far had not been taken...
Key to that would have been the media treating Trump the same way they treated obunghole during “his” pandemic...
Although I'm in the most threatened age category, I'd take my chances so that my many, many grandchildren and great grandchildren could have the best chance at continuing to live in a “great” America...
Not very much chance of that given the police-state actions that have been implemented already... With much worse already being proposed...
