At least 400 people have died due to the novel coronavirus in the United States, another grim milestone as the number of US cases topped 32,000 on Sunday.
Almost half of those cases -- 15,168 -- were in New York state, where Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Sunday morning that an estimated 40% to 80% of residents could get the coronavirus over the course of the pandemic.
"All we're trying to do is slow the spread, but it will spread. It is that contagious," he said, adding most people will overcome the illness unless they're older or have an underlying condition.

Dr. James Phillips, a CNN medical analyst and assistant professor of emergency medicine at The George Washington University, agrees with Cuomo's assessment of the virus' potential to spread, he told CNN's Wolf Blitzer on Sunday.
"We've actually been concerned about that on a countrywide level for months," Phillips said. "We've discussed this, we've seen the modeling, we know how these diseases spread and a lot of it depends on our own responsibility and social distancing."
There are at least 32,149 confirmed cases in the United States.

Even if you don’t believe China, The entire rest of the world has had,minus China, fewer than 250,000 cases in the last three months. Korea had 98 new cases yesterday and 64 today. Cuomo is second Dem gov to predict the Apocalypse. Newsome in Cal did the same earlier in the week.
If 80% of us are going to get it anyway, what’s the point of these draconian curfews and economic shutdowns?

This would mean that new you must have 10x the cases world wide at the moment to get to that number or 20x for worse case scenario

NY is becoming the equivalent to Italy. higher numbers and more deaths to ensue. Yet the idiot Mayor of NYC takes a contingent of staffers to the gym to workout. The mayor may be opening himself to be a patient.
Okay... so how is that any different than NY reporting over 130,000 influenza cases as of this week according to the CDC for the 2019-20 flu season?
If NY is estimated at 30,000+ so far in reported CV cases... I would say its on par with 2019-2020 flu infection rate. And of course most NY residence are infected(symptoms or not) with influenza each year but only the cases that are clinical are reported to the CDC and used in tracking.
Cuomo is cooking the books to hype the severity worse than it seems knowing that the clinical data is the only data used, but Cuomo instead makes an estimate of total infection that is never seen. No different than regular flu season infection demographic data.

I think my sister had it in NY in December. She had difficulty breathing, fever, severe fatigue, cough for close to 5 weeks although not all at once. She refused to go to the hospital although her husband almost called an ambulance once. She used teledoc and was called in antibiotics, steroids and an inhaler over the course of a month. Knowing her, I thought she wasn’t taking her antibiotics correctly (in the past she would start and stop) and I told her so. She said no, this was different and she felt so bad she followed medical advise to the letter. She felt like doctors weren’t believing her when she said how bad she felt. If she had it she infected many people as she works with the public and only missed a couple days of work. Hopefully, it has already passed through a large segment of the city/state.
