Gov. John Bel Edwards held a media briefing about Louisiana’s response to COVID-19 and issued a ‘Stay at Home’ order effective Monday March 23, 2020 at 5:00p.m until April 12, 2020. This news came after the governor announced Louisiana has the fastest growth rate of Coronavirus in the world. “Every single person in Louisiana has a role to play and they must play their role” says Gov. Edwards. As of 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 22, there were 837 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Louisiana, with 20 deaths. 2 weeks ago, Louisiana had no known cases and as of last Sunday, 91. The number of cases in Acadiana has increased to 15. There are 36 of 64 parishes affected at this time. We will continue to bring you updates as they become available.

Indeed - the economic damage and dislocation from all these states doing this will cause far more death and hardship, in ways they don’t even know of at this point. Think TP shortages sucks? Wait till supply chain for EVERY industry is turned off for 2-6 weeks or more! This is the kind of thing that could literally bankrupt the countries, blow up all pensions and could even lead to disolving the USA.

Doesn’t seem to matter. “Flattening the curve” seems to be all anyone in government cares about. But even when it is flattened, they won’t remove the restrictions because then the virus will spread again.
So this is going to go on until we get a vaccine. And they dont seem to care about the economic damage it causes.

Who knew all the governors, Dem or GOP, were little tyrants in the making? They are enjoying this. It gives them power they had never dreamed of. And it could lead to the collapse of the USA. But that’s okay with them.
The lead domino just needed to be pushed.
Wow. Was just watching a live press conference by Texas governor Greg Abbott. He made the point there are 254 counties in Texas. 200 of those counties have reported no COVID-19 cases at all. Yes the large urban areas have COVID-19 cases with more to come.
But much of Texas is still in the clear. For now. And as such there is no statewide lockdown.
I bet a lot of carriers were celebrating Mardi Gras from out of town.
It’s like watching the entire country go into organ shutdown.
Is this defined anywhere? (I'm not saying it's bad if not, very difficult to define such an order, but from that it sounds like it has no legal/enforcement power.) Maybe this is the step before that, but they're hoping not necessary and that people will do as ... 'voluntold.'

Interesting times. We are in LA for the funeral of a relative who passed on Saturday, with the funeral scheduled for Tuesday.
We shall see.
THey can’t do this until we get a vaccine. The governments income will be gone at every level. We’ll have widespread shortages, etc. They just need to let this burn out, elderly and at risk stay in and let everyone get back to work.
