I am hoping just time like the flue works for most people. Then the malaria combo in extreme cases for everyone else. If they have to put me on the respirator I figure I am a goner.

We probably have a stockpile, but it’s likely been expired for a decade or more. The military always does this. You go somewhere where malaria is present and they hand out chloroquine from the 90’s. Chemical threat? Here’s atropine and 2-PAM chloride from the cold war.

I'm old and I still work. Not all, but most medications are the same.

Expiration dates are mainly to provide defense from litigation.

They had testing, and they threw civil liberties out the window. If you were in contact with a positive person, you were arrested and put in armed quarantine.

It doesn’t take a genius to see how unpopular such a systen would be here. We the people must push for it, it needs to be on both party platforms.

I was told it would take a long time to begin producing our own, domestically. I would presume the same is true of Italy. Stop listening to who is telling you this. They spread fake news.

Unless we can come up with a medication regimen to use against
this disease, far too many people are going to die.

I don't think we can keep folks in their homes for more than a week
or two.

We may have to bite the bullet and go ahead and allow this to spread
and blow itself out.

We see these types of deaths each year.

Even at this point, I'm not sold we're doing the right things.

It's awful tempting to keep folks indoors, and avoid contact.
Sadly, at some point, you have to bail on that or accept the fact you've
just set yourself back 25-50 years.

There are some decent arguments for both ends of the spectrum

Yes, but people are living a lot longer.

80s and 90s are quite comment now-a-days.

My grandmother in law was driving into her 90s and was a spry old
mid 90s person.

She was a great lady, and it would have been a real shame to cut 35
great years off her life.

The whole family and members of hte community would have lost out.

80s and 90s these days.

My grand-mother-inlaw was really with it at 95.

It would have been terrible to cut 35 years off her life.

I didn’t see any change in the “it’s only the flu” crowd due to Italy’s horror.
Maybe President Trump finally got through to them.
