Younger Adults Comprise Big Portion of Coronavirus Hospitalizations in U.S.
The New York Times ^ | March 18, 2020 | Pam Belluck

American adults of all ages — not just those in their 70s, 80s and 90s — are being seriously sickened by the coronavirus, according to a report on nearly 2,500 of the first recorded cases in the United States.

The report, issued Wednesday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, found that — as in other countries — the oldest patients had the greatest likelihood of dying and of being hospitalized.

But of the 508 patients known to have been hospitalized, 38 percent were notably younger — between 20 and 54. And nearly half of the 121 patients who were admitted to intensive care units were adults under 65, the C.D.C. reported.

Wow, now we’re supporting NY slimes and CNN propaganda on here.

Yeah the CNN garbage was earlier.

Should we be bedazzled by numbers and give up more freedoms.

### the times. #### cnn. #### this virus.

The end game for the msm and dems isn’t beating this virus.

It’s ending our president and us.

So everybody put down your pearls and grab your b.lls.

They’ll be needed.

54 is now classified as “younger”? What, younger than Bernie Sanders?

They still avoid reporting how many of those in that age group have preexisting issues

Yes, 54 is “younger”. Especially based on initial reports that this only kills people who are over 80.

Interesting. The CDC analysis didn’t break it down that way. “Among 508 (12%) patients known to have been hospitalized, 9% were aged ≥85 years, 26% were aged 65–84 years, 17% were aged 55–64 years, 18% were 45–54 years, and 20% were aged 20–44 years. Less than 1% of hospitalizations were among persons aged ≤19 years (Figure 2). The percentage of persons hospitalized increased with age, from 2%–3% among persons aged ≤9 years, to ≥31% among adults aged ≥85 years. (Table).” So the Slimes took it upon themselves to bend the stats to fit their conclusions. Surprise, surprise.

This study is only sampling the first 2500 cases. Remember, not just anyone was testing for it at first. Many of these 38% young cases are likely people with preexisting conditions, like I heard there was one young guy who had leukemia who got it and died.

That was the Spanish soccer coach. He didn’t even know he had leukemia until he went to the hospital for CV.

The Slimes is pushing out a vomit load of propaganda. This is trying desperately to scare the younger masses who easily scare.

Knowing the Times, 192 patients are between 50-54 and the other one is 20. Like they do with “shot children “. Most are 15-19 essentially adults, with a couple young ones thrown in to convince the masses that toddlers are being gunned down.

The media and politicians seem to be angry at the youth lately because they aren’t as terrified of this as they think they should be. Most young people think this is an overreaction.

So yeah, expect more stories like this designed to get the youth to jump on the panic train.

It is also a rather long range of ages. How is hospitalization being defined? Is an ER visit that lasts over a certain number of hours counted? How long was the average stay? How many had underlying health issues?

The President has already received cooperation in *some* articles from *some* big media companies, obviously.

So about young people, now you know. They were focusing more on avoiding the start of a panic before, but that only allowed too much special interest propaganda to promote apathy and practices that spread the disease.

Remarks by President Trump, Vice President Pence, and Members of the Coronavirus Task Force in Press Briefing

“DR. BIRX: Thank you. Thank you, Mr. President, Mr. Vice President. So, you know, we continue to look at data every single day. There are concerning reports coming out of France and Italy about some young people getting seriously ill, and very seriously ill in the ICUs.

We think part of this may be that people heeded the early data coming out of China and coming out of South Korea that the elderly or those with preexisting medical conditions were at particular risk. It may have been that the millennial generation, our largest generation, our future generation that will carry us through for the next multiple decades, there may be a disproportional number of infections among that group. And so even if it’s a rare occurrence, it may be seen more frequently in that group and be evident now.”
