Cool!
Very post-Pearl Harbor. Smart.
That’s exactly what I was suggesting.
When this is over, store the surplus in warehouses ready for the next pandemic.
The Swine flu if I recall correctly, over half a million people died, 600,000 I believe and this was at the tail end of the GW Bush backstabber Presidency and the start of the B.Hussein caliphate, 2008/2009 yet I cannot recall whatsoever any hysterics by the public or the media, at least not on this scale. Why is that? Was it because GW was not up for reelection or because he was such a RINO they gave him a pass?
Great news!
Government Motors - pretty sure theyre obligated
So this is how the Arsenal of Democracy prepares to win the war?
Seems more like a “retooling” for remaining in a defensive posture.
WOW!
This brought a tear to my eye for some reason.
The irony here is that they may never go back to being auto plants.
My gosh someone couldn’t have come with a more never could happen movie script 6 months ago.
“Car factories are shut down and are retooled to make ventilators for the thousands of of people suffering from a exotic virus from China”
This is nuts to be happening.
Yessssss
Good on GM!!!
Nice!
In one emergency GM built airplanes and tanks. Now they can provide ventilators. That’s American know how and dedication for you. Kudos! We will win this war too.
It took months and even years for industry to tool to wartime production during the second world war - and we had a start of a couple of years before building stuff for the Brits.
Respirators have been talked about in generality. Same as a ventilator I’m thinking? Not all are the same, some are very sophisticated, some not not so much. Some have mentioned that CPAP equipment could be used? Fact or fiction, are there legit publications that describe this?
I’ve said for a long time that we’ve given up the Arsenal of Democracy abilities.
Hopefully at the end of this, we’ll realize it and make permanent plans to keep critical manufacturing here.
What a great move by GM. Hopefully others will follow their lead, especially those where the changeover can be a little easier.
Brava!
Did Mexican or Canadian plants shutter their doors? I was pretty sure all they did in the US was assemble components made elsewhere. Maybe not.
