Eighty percent of deaths associated with the coronavirus in the United States were in adults aged 65 and older, according to an analysis released Wednesday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The risk for serious disease and death in COVID-19 cases among persons in the United States increases with age, the CDC said. Social distancing is recommended for all ages to slow the spread of the virus, protect the health care system, and help protect vulnerable older adults.
The analysis looked at 44 cases from Feb. 12 through March 16 and found that 34 percent of deaths were reported among adults aged 85 and older. Forty-six percent of deaths were reported among those aged 65 to 84. Adults between the ages of 20 and 64 made up 20 percent of the deaths.
Public health officials and experts have warned for weeks that the elderly are at the highest risk of dying from the coronavirus. The analysis lined up with data released by China, which showed 80 percent of deaths there were in adults aged 60 and older.

Old Persons Disease. Millennials should care, why exactly?
I work for a medical facility in a non clinical role. I could easily work from home. I’m 62. I’m still required to come in to work.
Either the threat is overblown, or my employer is trying to reduce retirement costs.
The Boomer Broomer Virus.
That’s a start, now tell us what underlying conditions they had as well...
Im a Boomer.
“Old Persons Disease. Millennials should care, why exactly?”
Boomer remover?
Except many millennials have underlying conditions. They’re going with us.
I’m 65 and still work (now at home). I’m not overly concerned right now, but I do take precautions.
In today’s Trump press conference they said that data is starting to come in from Europe about younger people getting seriously ill.
Different strain? Or psy-op to get Millenials to quit spreading it to others? A little of both?
Millennials May Be at a Higher Risk for Catching Coronavirus Official- Says
Did you leave off the "/sarc" tag? Or assume we all got it?
Maybe because they love Ma & Pa? Or maybe because they love Grandma and Grandpa? Or maybe just because they are good, loving, empathetic people? Or maybe because they are good Christians?
It would be delightful karma if all the young folks talking about #boomerremover would die due to pot smoking.
Now THAT is cynical! Of course, it may be true, too.

Album Get the Knack
[Intro]
[Verse 1]
Ooh, my little pretty one, pretty one
When you gonna give me some slime , Corona?
Ooh, you make my nosey run, my nosey run
Got it coming off the airline, Corona
[Chorus]
Never gonna stop, give it up, such a dirty mind
I always get it up for the touch of the younger kind
My, my, my, I, yi, woo!
M-m-m-my Corona
[Verse 2]
Come a little closer, huh, ah, will ya, huh?
Close enough to look in my eyes, Corona
Keeping it a mystery gets to me
Running down the length of my thighs, Corona
[Chorus]
Never gonna stop, give it up, such a dirty mind
I always get it up for the touch of the younger kind
My, my, my, I, yi, woo!
M-m-m-my Corona
M-m-m-my Corona
[Bridge]
[Verse 3]
When you gonna give to me, give to me?
Is it just a matter of time, Corona?
Is it just destiny, destiny
Or is it just a game in my mind, Corona?
[Chorus]
Never gonna stop, give it up, such a dirty mind
I always get it up for the touch of the younger kind
My, my, my, I, yi, woo!
M-m-m-my my my, I, yi, woo!
M-m-m-my Corona
M-m-m-my Corona
M-m-m-my Corona
M-m-m-my Corona
[Outro - Instrumental Bridge]
Oooooh, my Corona
Oooooh, my Corona
Oooooh, my Corona
Why are you picking on corona virus-2019 (covid-19) for 80% deaths of 65+ people ??
Excuse me, but 80% of ALL deaths are always over65 age...YEAR after YEAR.
Good thing I don’t turn 65 til this June ...
“younger people getting seriously ill (in Europe)”
We are definitely seeing that here, too.
“Im 65 and still work (now at home). Im not overly concerned right now, but I do take precautions.”
That’s wise. I think this is over reaction, Ohio has gone to the edge of a full on stay home lockdown. I think it’s all a bit much, but, that doesn’t mean I am not concerned. I take precautions as well, many of them government enforced.
Stop using logic!
I guess Weird Al declined to take this one on...bummer.
