Navy officer sues Pentagon over transgender military ban

A transgender Navy officer is suing the Pentagon over its ban on most transgender military service, arguing she faces involuntary discharge despite a successful record of service.

Four other lawsuits have previously been filed against the policy, but the latest one, filed by two advocacy groups on behalf of the officer identified only as Jane Doe, is the first since the ban took effect last year.

“As an experienced officer, all she seeks is the ability to continue serving her country on the same terms as others,” Jennifer Levi, transgender rights project director at GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders (GLAD), said in a news release Wednesday. “The Navy has invested nearly a decade in her training, and she is committed to serving for years to come. It destabilizes and debases our military to discharge Doe and other highly qualified people under a politically motivated policy that has no basis in anything other than bias.”

The Pentagon’s current transgender policy went into effect in April 2019 after courts lifted the last of the injunctions that had ben blocking the policy.

Transgender troops had been allowed to serve openly since June 2016 when the Obama administration lifted the previous ban on their service.

The military is fundamentally different from civilian life.

How in the heck, is there some constitutional right for a mentally deranged person to serve in the military?

How is there a constitutional right, for someone who pulls down his/her pants and confused about his/her sex, to be in stressful life and death military situations????

Jane Doe = Commander Glorihole.

There are still too many Obungo style officers in the Navy.

The big question is, ‘what bathroom does she use’?

Is rum, sodomy and the lash considered fun?

We don’t need gender confused people in the military.

To be “gender confused” is to be mentally unstable

If you are a man, and you think you are a woman, you are screwed up. You have no business in the military using dangerous equipment.

He can’t serve on the same terms as other sailors because he requires a constant stream of hormones to maintain the facade that he isn’t a man. That is an added logistical tail and added burden that other sailors don’t require.

I agree with this statement. However, the policy is not being motivated by bias but rather practical considerations (psychological, primarily). Thus, the statement is pure bluster.

She is not ‘on the same terms as others’.

She is on hormones different from what she was born with, flooding her system to make her have characteristics different that her gender. This not only affects her body but her mind.

Many of these confused people sign up with the military so that their surgery will be paid for by AMERICANS.

They enlist, declare they are transgender and begin the process which includes counseling, drug therapy and surgery - all which takes up the approximate time they serve and then they leave.

They have it down to a science to stick it to others to pay for their pipe dream.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That’s pretty much all we have left.
The Kenyanesian Usurper ran off all the warriors.
The founders were correct to restrict the office to natural born citizens, one who was naturally a citizen because they were born here of citizen parents and has only ONE nationality.
Bastardizing the language to include the last King of Thailand (born in Cambridge MA), Winston Churchill (mother an American), the children of Anwar al-Awlaki (born in a foreign country with one citizen parent, same as Ted Cruz) is the height of insanity or villainy.
Supporting the anti-Constitutional redefinition of natural born citizen as anyone born here or tangentially eligible for citizenship at birth puts one in one or the other category.
This is an officer, regardless of sex or gender, who at the 10 year mark (according to the article), has probably been passed over for promotion to O-4 twice now. It happens to any who are not above the promotion line in their performance reviews. Military service is not guaranteed, its succeed up or move out.
But because he/she/it is a special character, they get to scream discrimination.
....my first 6 years of my 28-year military career were served in the Unites States Navy (the rest were in the U.S. Air Force); I served with numerous first-rate naval officers and would have followed them to the gates of Hell if necessary (well... most of them, anyway...)
I cannot imagine my serving in today’s U.S. Navy it has become some sort of social experiment, a Petri dish of political correctness....this officer should be booted out and quietly forgotten....
