Who Will Succeed Trump in 2024?
The Political Insider ^ | 10 MAR 20200 | Wayne Dupree

If you haven’t noticed by now, the Democrats are focused upon surviving the Trump Presidency. If they can maintain control of the Deep State kakistocracy and keep its leaders out of jail, they believe they will have won. Even if President Trump wins a second term, which will mean they do not have as many dead voters as live Republicans, and that is not likely, there is no successor to Trump.

I worry about this with reckless abandon.

It worked in 2016 and produced the best possible candidate.

Trump lost every debate and only won because people rejected all the others. Now I expect that everyone who voted for Trump is very glad they did. Ron DeSantis is proving to be tougher than Trump in my estimation. Haley was a very vocal @NeverTrumper are you sure she really changed her mind or is she just facing up to political reality?

I’m reasonably sure that if we looked at threads from 2012 trying to predict who the Republican candidate would be in 2016, Donald Trump’s name would not appear often, if at all. Jeez, people, the campaigns are long enough as it is. Let’s get this one done and see what happens closer to the actual time of need.

Holy mackerel! Can we just enjoy the next 4+ years? Even before the upcoming election, people are already talking about the next one. This just proves that government is too big and controls too much of our economy and our lives.

Ok. Pence finishes out the last 2 years of Trump’s 2nd term. 2024 comes along and Trump(DJT) runs again! 10 years.

"No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once." - 22nd Amendment.

Darn that pesky Constitution anyway.

No thanks.

If you strike a thorn or rose
Keep a-goin’!
If it hails, or if it snows
Keep a-goin’!
Ain’t no use to sit and whine
When the fish ain’t on your line;
Bait your hook and keep a-tryin’
Keep a-goin’!

When the weather kills your crop
Keep a-goin’!
When you tumble from the top
Keep a-goin’!
Suppose you’re out of every dime
Being so ain’t any crime;
Tell the world you’re feelin’ prime
Keep a-goin!

When it looks like all is up
Keep a-goin’!
Drain the sweetness from the cup
Keep a-goin’!
See the wild birds on the wing
Hear the bells that sweetly ring
When you fee like sighing, sing:
Keep a-goin’!

“A lot of them (support ineligible potential candidates here)”

And they sure do get bent out of shape when we notice!

“Geesh!”

Nobody.

Trump will be in office until 20 January of 2025, so NOBODY will be succeeding him in 2024.

When Trump fails to solve all their problems, which will happen because most people’s problems can’t be solved by the government, they’ll be sick of R and vote for D.

As P.J. O'Rourke said, "Republicans are the party that says government doesn't work, then they get elected and prove it."
