Nostalgically I remember typing this over and over until I could so it with my eyes closed for typing exercises. Never had to add “and women” to the phrase, it was perfect as it was. We were taught that ‘men’ used in that case included all mankind. Life was much better when we followed those guidelines.
When will people learn that just because something is new it is not necessarily better. I used to regret that I was not blessed with children, I no longer have those feelings.
